The Next Day

A Protestor While Shopping

After we all sexually sated, I thought it would only be polite to offer Heather and Trevor something to eat. Going to the kitchen I discovered that nothing but the Keurig machine and its pods were unpacked. Damn I had to take at least the morning off to get things Unpacked and do some shopping for food and other essentials.

As it was, Heather knew of a pizza place that proved to be one of the best pizza I had since leaving the east coast. After we devoured the pair of pizzas ordered and drank the sodas that came along with the order, my new friends left me to get some sleep. I have to say the combination of Leah and Heather really drained me of energy, so the idea of sleeping was just what the doctor called for.

It was a little after eight Am when I had to get up and drain my vein. On the way back to the bedroom I called Rivals and left a message for Mrs. Hurley telling her I was taking the day off to get me place in order. After getting dressed, I mediately went to the kitchen and unpacked everything after making myself a cup of breakfast blend coffee.

A little after ten I looked up the nearest grocery store and went to do some shopping. Seven minutes later I paid my dollar to get a cart and was about to begin shopping when some crazy blonde was shouting at the in-store bakery staff about how they were destroying their customer with over processed baked goods!

I didn’t want to get involved, so I grabbed a loaf of Wonder White bread and prayed to god that whoever she was wouldn’t notice me. I had just taken four steps away from the baking section when a hand grabbed my right elbow.

“Christ, do you have any idea what chemicals go into making that?”

Without thinking, “The kind that makes great toast in the morning and sandwiches during the day!”

Outside of the disgusted look the blonde was giving me, there was something about her face that made me feel that I’ve seen her before. Still I didn’t want to hang around listening to some west coast nutjob bitching about commercial bread.

“Look I’m sure whatever you bitching about is something that I should think about but, I just moved here and I really like to eat first thing in the morning!” I shook her arm off mine and continued on my way to get other staples of a breakfast, like milk, eggs and pancake syrup

From behind, “Oh great another philistine when it comes to proper baking!”

Without looking back “Yeah well I’ve lived this long without thinking about it, So I should get a few more years before it kills me!” I spotted a boxed pancake mix on an end shelf and placed two in my cart, expecting for Miss Heath nut to explode about what I was buying.

I got the rest of my groceries without any other complaints from other people in the store. Went to the cashier, paid and bagged my groceries and got them to my car and drove back home. Placing all the bags in the kitchen, I turned and found a piece of paper taped to the door of the refrigerator.

“Remember, dinner party at the Meyers, tonight- dress optional!
                                                                                                                Heather”

She even penned a pair of lips after her name, which brought back memories of last night

“Oh I’ll be there!, if for nothing else to see you and Leah again!

The Rest Of The Afternoon
