A Meeting of the Moms

Mary was shopping for groceries when a pink haired woman her age approached. Mary quickly surmised this wasn’t the head of the local chapter of Mothers for Morality approaching, which she considered a good thing.

“Hi, are you Mary Monroe?” the woman asked.

“Until I get to the courthouse and legally change my name back, yes,” Mary replied.

The other woman grinned at her “Yeah, I’ve been meaning to do that too, I think I’ve only held off because it pisses off my ex for me to keep it. I’m Stacy Gunner, Lucas’s mom, he’s a friend of your son,” Stacy said.

“Ah yes, Lucas, mischievous little imp, I can see where he got it from,” Mary said.

“He is quite taken with you, and thought you might be starting to play the field,” Stacy said.

“Let’s just say I threw out some practice pitches,” Mary replied.

“Well the scouting report says you’re a natural. Did you and your ex do any swapping when you were married?” Stacy asked.

“No, Frank was pretty straight-laced, up until he got into his 40’s and started getting nostalgic for 20 year olds, anyway,” Mary replied.

Stacy laughed, “well if it’s any condolence, my ex and I played the swap scene and it didn’t stop him from becoming nostalgic for 20 year olds either.”

“I’m assuming this isn’t a chance meeting. I’m also assuming you aren’t inviting me to a ‘Mothers for Morality’ meeting, so what’s up?” Mary asked.

“We wanted to invite you and Thomas over to our place for an intimate evening Saturday night,” Stacy said.

“’We’ being you and Lucas I assume,” Mary said.

“Yes, Lucas tells me Thomas is a virgin and would very much like to not be one any longer than necessary, I can help with that, and like I said, Lucas is taken with you,” Stacy said.

“Taken as in he would like to screw me,” Mary guessed.

“Yes, with Thomas and I looking on so Thomas gets the idea of what he needs to do with me,” Stacy explained. “I hope I’m not upsetting you with the suggestion.”

Mary laughed, “no, I grew up in a hippy art commune. Sex was everywhere, natural, and public. That’s probably a major issue that eventually ended the marriage.”

“Frank didn’t want you participating in it?” Stacy asked.

“I didn’t, part of the reason I married Frank was to get into a different lifestyle. I don’t think he ever fully trusted me on the issue though.”

“So this wouldn’t be a problem for you then,” Stacy said.

“Not me, I’m not so sure about Thomas though,” Mary said.

“Lucas asked him, and he said he was OK with it,” Stacy replied.

“Yeah, but it’s one thing to say it to your male friend in locker room talk, and quite another to say it to your mother. I’ll ask him tonight and let you know. As long as he really is on board with it, we’ll be over Saturday,” Mary said.
