Chapter 6 by Cross C Cross C

A Mayor and his Daughter

Mayor Luis Vasquez was a big man with close cropped hair and a broad stocky body. He was in his fifties and wore a fine suit, his tie blue, an American flag pin on his jacket.

He was accompanied by a younger woman with a sour face. Obviously his daughter. She was quite attractive, slim, with mocha skin and big brown intelligent eyes. She wore a white blouse with a tie and a black pencil skirt. Her hair was tied in a bun.

"This is Doctor Dean Wayne." my secretary announced while I stood up from my chair and welcomed the mayor with a firm hand shake.

"A pleasure to meet you." I said as I motioned them to sit down. As the mayor sat, his daughter took a good long look at me. I looked back into her big brown eyes and at her lips which were curved in a slight sneer. She knew why she was here and she wasn't very happy about it. I gave her the best smile I had and she rolled her eyes.

"Now the reason you requested my services, Luis, was that the two of you were experiencing some **** relationship issues due to your opposing political views. Is that right?" I asked, looking at the big man.

He looked at his daughter and then motioned her to speak. I could tell she was furious by this gesture, yet she complied with a roll of her eyes and a huff. "Yes, that's right. My father is a narrow-minded right-winger and he wants me to be the way I was brought up to be: A good Christian, right-wing woman."

"Now, Alexandra," father started, only to be interrupted by his daughter.

"All you care about are corporations, treating them like they are people with inalienable rights over individual citizens." she said angrily, "You want to cut welfare because you believe lazy people are what is wrong with this country. You speak out against gun control because you think it will stop crime, when everyone knows that more access to guns only leads to more gun-related crimes."

"Alexandra!" father scolded.

"What!? It's true! This is common sense! The only explanation for why you believe what you do is if you think certain people in society are more deserving of rights and privileges than others!"

The mayor turned to me. "As you can see, Doctor, she has completely lost faith in my ideals and taken up those of the left. As well as having ... inappropriate sexual relationships with ... too many men."

"Inappropriate sexual relationships?" I asked, arching an eyebrow.

In all honesty, most of this was going completely over my head. Humans had some pretty crazy ideas about what was important in society. That was true for most non-telepathic species. It had to do with the faulty nature of having to come up with vocal symbols that accurately reflected their thoughts which inevitably failed completely. It was honestly a surprise that so many mind blanked races managed to figure out fire, let alone the rest of the tech tree.

Plus mainline human society's views on sex were absolutely bonkers. Monogamy between pairs blessed by their deity? It seemed that some of their desert dwelling peoples had close to right proclivities with proper harems but they were demonized by the majority for some reason.

Alexandra scoffed, "Oh yes. I was supposed to save myself for marriage to a man who would be chosen for me. I don't think so."

"So you sleep with any Tom, Dick, or Harry that asks?"

"I sleep with whoever the hell I want!" she exclaimed, her voice rising. "It's my body and I will do what I want with it."

"But don't you see?" the father said with a pleading tone, "This is why I brought you to this clinic. To cure you of your homosexuality."

Her eyes went wide and she groaned out loud, "That was one time! In college. It doesn't make me gay! I've fucked a ton of guys since then. I surely don't need any help in that regard. IS that why I'm here?" she asked, turning to me.

"You're here to improve your relationship. That is all." I lied with a confidence that felt like complete truth to these two barely sentient beings. Clapping my hands together I continued, "Okay. I'm going to talk with Alexandra alone in my office. Luis, please stay here and enjoy the fine company of my lovey secretary, Nicole."

I stared directly into his eyes, hypnotizing him and ensuring that he would be perfectly obedient to Nicole while I dealt with his daughter.
