A Job Interview

Wednesday morning started with me alone in the office, no idea where Daniel was or if he even clocked in yet. I was just pouring myself a cup of coffee when I heard voices approaching the door.

“I tell you that I would make a perfect theft prevention officer, who would suspect a female poking around the counters and dressing rooms?”

The door opened and in came Daniel with a lady who was wearing a pair of black thigh high boots, a black sweater and top over a pair of black denim jeans. She came in as if she owned the place, going over to the chair and plopping herself down in it.

I acknowledged her before turning my attention on Daniel. “What have you got?”

“Your guess is as good as mine Mr. Darrow, She came up to me by the lady's dressing room asking to speak with the head theft prevention officer and wouldn’t take no for an answer!”

I returned my attention to the lady. She just looked at me then she started to speak. “My name is Jessica Wedlin and I want to be one of your officers!” Then she proceeded to take off her jeans, removing something from the left back pocket. Standing up both Daniel and I could see that she had some kind of leather around her crotch, but it was the pair of handcuffs that got my attention.

“You see I already know the tricks of the trade, so I would catch more shoplifters than the pair of you combined!” The cuffs dropped from her first two fingers on her right hand. “As for what this is, just consider it my live aptitude test to see if I could work here!”
