“Not only are the Crystals an old thing, but so is the Fame systems, at its most basic.

“The rewards we can buy using the Fame Points we get are different, but the system is old.

“Originally the idea was that people who do things that make them famous or infamous would be treated differently from those who were unknown. That extended to the groups they were part of. For example, someone who went around murdering babies by boiling them alive and making their parents drink the resulting broth would be treated differently from someone who helped protect the innocent. Both would incite reactions from people as a whole, while one who was unknown, or in disguise, wouldn’t. Things you might get with Fame Points might be recruiting Assists, leniency if you have to break the law, or getting offers to help you escape in return for a favor latter, maybe even a grant of land or some other matter.

“For groups, it is an extension of it. What the group does as a whole and the reputation it gains via those who represent it affect its fame.

“This means people being focused on me here not only will boost my fame, but also the towns. Us showing the Group Claimant Crystals work this way also boosts Highbreeze’s fame.

“The system WAS altered, and it seems to just show Fame as a whole, instead of Famous and Infamous.”

Someone asked “Why was it removed?”

“Because people hated the fact that they were being treated as monsters for their actions and deservedly so. They wanted to have fun without consequence. They could not just remove the Infamy part without removing the Fame part as otherwise the Goodly people would get an advantage over them.”

You just shrug. “The Gods only care about the Players and getting as many in this world as possible.”
