Chapter 4

What is Mackenzie’s next obstacle?

“I’m not touching you, I’m not touching you, I’m…

…not touching you!” Said Mackenzie’s twin brother Jack as he continued to almost poke her in her face.

“Jack, do you really have to do this?” Groaned Mackenzie as she pushed herself against the car door. “You’re a freaking adult, bloody act like it!”

“Jackson, I don’t want any of your childish tomfoolery. Aunt Linda already looks down on me, and you are not going to make it worse for me. Got that?!”

Jack sat back on his side of the seat, arms crossed over one another, and sighed. “Yes, dad.”

God, that idiot almost exposed me with his immaturity. I swear, he stopped growing up when he was nine. No time to think about that, I need to find a solution to my nudity. If I’m exposed in front of the wedding, not only will the whole family know that I can use magic, but they will never let me live down the embarrassment. I need to find a way for dad to turn around and drive back home. But wh- Jack, seriously?! Knock it off with your poking!”

As the O'Malleys stopped for gas, Mackenzie saw a small pack of crackers her parents kept in the car. “It’s a long shot, but maybe…” She grabbed the crackers, kept a hand in front of her mouth, and spoke in a sickly voice. “M-mom, I don’t feel so…” She dashed out of the car and towards the gas station restroom.

“Mackenzie, what’s wrong?” Worried, her mother stepped out of the vehicle and gave chase.

Mackenzie unpacked the crackers and put a couple in her mouth, chewing them thoroughly as she barged into the restroom. “Great, touching a gas station restroom floor with my bare feet. Guess I’ll be bathing them in bleach after this. This better works.” She stood in front of the toilet, and spit out the crackers.

When her mother entered the restroom, she asked, “what is going on, Mackenzie?”

“I’m… I’m sick, mom. I thought I could handle it when I woke up, but I had to throw up just now.”

“Oh, poor thing. Let me feel your temperature.” She slowly put the back of her hand against Mackenzie’s forehead, who ducked away as if the hand was covered in fire.

“NO! I-I mean no, I… erm.” Stammered Mackenzie. Raising an eyebrow, her mom inspected in the toilet.

“Wait a minute, this is fake! You used those crackers, didn’t you?”

Crap! Well, yes, but I can explain it.”

“Oh, but I think I already know. You got stage fright because of the roast you have planned, don’t you?”

“Erm, yeah! I am really scared, mom! I’ll make a total fool out of myself, I just know it.” ‘Confessed’ Mackenzie. “I might not get out of the wedding, but I could at least get out of the roast.

“It’s okay, honey. You know what? Let’s do it together! Side by side.”

NOOO! A nice idea, mom. But there wouldn’t be enough time. You’d have to remember all of my jokes. All two of them.”

“No problem, dear. I have a excellent memory. Just give me your cards when we are back in the car and I’ll have them memorized before we are there.”

Shoot me now!

“Why don’t you get back to the car? I need to buy some crackers.” Asked her mom.

As Mackenzie walked back, she saw a handsome guy in a leather jacked and blonde shoulder-length hair filling his motorcycle. “Hmm, kinda hot!

“Ey, look at the sexy broad coming my way!” Cheered the guy.

And now he’s kinda not!” Mackenzie didn’t even look him in the eye as she walked passed him, only stopping when she heard a loud…

“SMACK!” On her rear end. “The hell, asshole?!”

The guy stared in surprise, and then in lust. “Dunno how you undressed yourself this quickly, but I’m not complaining.”

Oh God! He touched me! If you think that was quick, then you’ll be surprised how quickly I want to be away from you.”

“Please, you don’t have to play hard to get. Of course you want a piece of this. It’s only human.”

“HA, as if! Bye, prick!” As Mackenzie entered the car again, the biker thought to himself. “Oh, I’m sure I haven’t seen the last of you, tooshie.

The wedding is up next. What happens there?
