[Eunhwa>50] Noah can't deny his feelings [Eunhwa Route]

But in that silence, Noah’s thoughts kept turning back to Eunhwa. She had been a constant presence in his life since the day she arrived, filling the spaces that had once been reserved for his wife. He wasn’t proud of it, but the feelings had been growing steadily, like a creeping vine—slow and steady, but inevitable.

Noah sighed, running a hand over his face. He had tried to ignore it. He had tried to stay true to Olivia. But how could he, when Eunhwa made him feel something he hadn’t felt in so long—something real, something fresh? He knew he was putting everything at risk. But it felt like he had ****.

He stood up, his legs heavy with the weight of his decision. The house felt too small all of a sudden. He moved toward the hallway, each step a reminder that he was walking away from the life he had known, toward something new, something uncertain. He reached Eunhwa’s room and paused in the doorway.

She was sitting on her bed, her knees pulled up to her chest as she absently flicked through a torn book she had found during one of their scavenges. Her silver curls framed her face like a halo, her bright eyes flickering as they skimmed over the pages. The sight of her—so soft, so unaffected by the madness outside—struck him like a punch to the gut.

She looked up when she noticed him standing in the doorway, her expression curious but kind. "Noah?" she said, her voice a gentle pull that made him step forward. “What’s up?”

He swallowed hard, his throat tight. There was no easy way to say this, no way to wrap it in anything that wouldn’t hurt. But it needed to be said.

“I can’t keep pretending,” he said, his voice rougher than he intended. “I’ve been avoiding it, but I can’t anymore. I can’t deny how I feel. I can’t lie to myself any longer.” He took a deep breath, his hand trembling slightly as it rested on the doorframe. “I want to be with you, Eunhwa. I know it’s messy, and I know I have no right to ask this, but I need to say it.”

Eunhwa blinked, her expression unreadable for a moment as she processed his words. The air between them was thick with tension, but it wasn’t an uncomfortable one. It was raw, honest. She set the book aside slowly and stood up, walking toward him.

“Noah,” she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper. “You’ve been running from this. I’ve known. But you’ve been holding back, and I... I didn’t want to push you. I knew you were loyal to Olivia.” She paused for a moment, her eyes searching his face. “But if you’re asking me to be with you, to make this real... then I’m here. I’m ready for whatever this is. I just need to know you mean it.”

He reached out, his hand trembling as he cupped her cheek gently, his thumb brushing against the soft skin of her face. His heart pounded in his chest, his pulse racing in his ears. For a moment, he wasn’t sure if he was even breathing.

"When I'm with you... with you, I feel like I can breathe again. I don’t want to let this go. Not now. Not when you’ve made me feel alive,” he whispered.

Eunhwa’s lips curved into a small smile, her eyes shining in the moonlight.

She leaned in, her breath warm against his face. “Then don’t let it go,” she whispered.

And in that moment, the world outside seemed to disappear. The fear, the chaos, the survival—it all melted away. All that mattered was here, now. His hand slid to the back of her neck, pulling her closer. The kiss was slow, hesitant at first, as if both of them were still unsure, still testing the waters. But then, as the kiss deepened, Noah knew. He knew that this was no longer just a fleeting moment or a decision made in haste.

It was real. And he couldn’t turn back now.

The world might have fallen apart around them, but at that moment, it made sense.
