As of which act?

[Characters - Act 4]

Last updated Ch 138 - "New minions, new items, new roles"

Azazel's Faction

Azazel & Champions

Azazel

The protagonist of the story. A Greater Imp who has started his own dungeon, having since transformed into a Lesser Incubus (when adding charm), then a Nephilim (when adding holy magic), then a Malebranche (improved contracts), then a Cornugon (improved contracts again). Goes by "Adam" when disguising himself as an adventurer.

Tlaxxana

A naga summoned by Azazel and his first champion. She evolved into a Gorgon, a daemon with the lower body of a snake and the upper body of a woman, with long fangs and hair that can turn into snakes at her will. She has four arms and fights with sabres and a multi-stringed magic bow. She's somewhat lazy when in the dungeon, preferring to doze off when there isn't a fight to be had.

Arialle Fairbreeze

Once an adventurer, although her player (Sarah, aka Celestina) abandoned her when she realized her character was being corrupted by Azazel whenever she logged off. She used to be a cleric of Enileve, goddess of purity. Now serves as a warlock champion of Azazel and the first member of his harem. Sees herself as occupying a special place by Azazel's side. She's generally supportive of his actions, but can also push him to action when she feels it's needed.

Celestina Silverhair

The player who once played Arialle Fairbreeze. Abandoned Arialle character after realizing Azazel was corrupting her, and created a new character, this time a ranger. She otherwise looks identical to Arialle. She became enamoured with Adam, Azazel's adventurer persona, despite hating Arialle. Joined up with Amara & Grungil for a while, then was **** to quit Shards of Arkus due to a series of real-life crises: her mother died, she became estranged from her brother, and she was evicted from her house without enough money to rent another place. Azazel offered to summon her to Arkus as a monster, and now she's a daemonologist and one of the champions of his dungeon. Retains much of her humanity and is the group's conscience.

Mariel

Once an angel of Enileve who, along with her sister Seramiel, was summoned and converted to Azazel's cause. Now an Erinyes, she is one of Azazel's champions and a member of his harem. She prefers to fight with ice magic and her bow, using a whip or spear when she's in close quarters. She is cheerful and optimistic, sometimes to the point of naivety. Generally doesn't care about the specifics of running the dungeon as long as she can join in and watch.

Seramiel

Mariel's protective older sister. Now a fellow Erinyes, champion, and member of Azazel's harem, much like her younger sister. She prefers to fight up close and personal with a sword and a whip. She is more serious, careful, and pessimistic than Mariel, and is deeply protective of her sister. Doesn't care much about the day-to-day operations of the dungeons as long as the people she cares about are safe and she can get a good fight every now and then.

Ikaria

Prometheia's daughter, a yellow (lightning) dragon. She was sick of being cooped up in her mother's dungeon and looking for any way to annoy her mother when she got married off to Azazel in an alliance. Although initially doubtful, she's come to enjoy Azazel, his dungeon, and its various denizens. She's extremely powerful, but asked to conceal herself to avoid bringing Prometheia's enemies into the fight. She can be immature and bratty, yet charming when she wants to be. She's also direct, wilful, and unafraid to take initiative when she thinks something needs to happen.

Aethane

A fae three-tailed wolf-woman and ice priestess of Borea. She was imprisoned by Akserrak in a mana crystal long ago, until Azazel managed to summon her back into the world. Kay convinced her to join Azazel's cast of champions as a fighter and later as a lover. She fights with an icy mace and shield, and summons ice, snow, and frigid winds to help her allies in battle. She's still somewhat guarded around Azazel.

Minions

Rishukan

Once the chieftess of the goblin tribe, she and her kind were converted into daemonic 'fallen ones' (small, lanky, goblin-like daemons). She is now the level boss boss of the Fallen Warrens in Azazel's dungeon. She stands over 7ft tall and looks similar to a red bugbear with horns.

Baelzann

An imp who Azazel promoted to greater imp and leader of the dungeon's imp. He is hyper-energetic and is fond of dashing through the corridors screaming "boooooooosssss!" when something is up. Prompted again to level boss of Shattered Elysium, serving as a general in charge of daemons, corrupted angels, and tieflings.

Lilia

A hermaphrodite seductrix who Azazel promoted to the level boss of the Halls of Desire. Was once one of the cultists in the church under Broadbridge. She stands taller than her kin and runes crisscross her body.

Caspian

A slightly less mischievous pixie who Azazel promoted to the level boss of the Hanging Gardens.

Elanie

An aranean woman who Azazel promoted to the level boss of the Silent Tunnels.

Ex-adventurers

Zalreanne

A dark elf sorceress turned necromancer with Azazel's (not entirely voluntary) help. She made herself at home for quite some time, and Azazel finally had enough, hunting down a powerful amulet to seal her magic. After sealing her, Azazel broke her will to oppose him. Ultimately, she devoted her life to serving him as the maid in his dungeon. She is now one of his most devoted servants and head maid.

Annie & Cindy

Two adventurers who discovered a fetish for sleeping with monsters. Helped him win back his dungeon from Akserrak. They were convinced by Azazel to abandon their dreary lives on Earth and be summoned into Arkus to be maids in his dungeon.

Alastra

A low-level paladin who ignored Azazel's warnings and helped Akserrak in exchange for unusually good quest rewards, including a massive amount of experience. She returned in A4 as a much higher-level adventurer and Sahr'rhazad's ally in the quest for the Radiant Soul, although she quickly decided to betray her ally in exchange for a boon from Azazel. Azazel tricked her into a tournament which she thought was a sure bet but she was actually near-guaranteed to lose: the price of loss was becoming one of the dungeon's maids rather than getting freedom as a synthesized adventurer.

Hecate, Circe, and Vash

Three old friends and long-time Arkus adventurers who joined up recently with Alastra. They helped Alastra summon Azazel and negotiate a contest to be summoned into Arkus. However, already somewhat swayed by Azazel's charms and powers and less naive than Alastra, they opted to make a more concrete deal with Azazel. In exchange for pledging their loyalty to him and agreeing to join his dungeon as monsters, they were brought in as powerful succubi given special powers, high ranks, and a great deal of freedom within the dungeon's organization.

Adventurers

David & Co

David ("Shadowdagger Nimblefingers")

Sarah's younger brother, who plays an elf rogue. Creepy towards his sister's ingame persona, trying to seduce her when logged off, which caused the two of them to become estranged. Gained mysterious necromantic powers near the end of Act 2. Spent Act 3 as a loyal, perhaps brainwashed, agent of Akserrak. He was ultimately defeated by Azazel and his adventurer allies. He showed up in A4 first hired as an unwitting distraction by Alastra, and later in one of the parties raiding Azazel's dungeon during a world bounty.

Jared ("Jared Swiftblade")

A hulking human warrior who fights behind a large wooden shield. Was betrayed by Arialle at the end of Act 1. Joined David's group due to his attraction for and eventual relationship with Lana. Gained mysterious necromantic powers near the end of Act 2, which he later revealed to Azazel were due to an item granted to him by Akserrak. Threw away his powers when he realized his friends and girlfriend (Lana) were acting strangely. Joined up with Azazel to help free his girlfriend from the lich's influence, and left with her once he found her.

Orin ("Orin Greenthumb")

A dwarf druid who briefly adventured with Sarah, but betrayed her for David's group. Gained mysterious necromantic powers near the end of Act 2, which turned out to be from the lich Akserrak. His familiar is a huge black panther. He helped Akserrak in his schemes repeatedly through Act 3, and was ultimately defeated by Azazel and his adventurer allies. Last seen with Shadowdagger invading Azazel's dungeon as part of a world bounty.

Lana ("Elena Frostmantle")

An elf mage who joined David's new group. Gained mysterious necromantic powers near the end of Act 2, which turned out to be from the lich Akserrak. She helped Akserrak in his schemes repeatedly through Act 3, but was punished after she inadvertently helped Azazel escape with Akserrak's phylactery. Freed by Azazel and she left with her boyfriend Jared after he freed her from the lich's corruption.

Alex ("Alex Tigerheart")

An archer who joined David's new group. Gained mysterious necromantic powers near the end of Act 2, which turned out to be from the lich Akserrak. They helped Akserrak in his schemes repeatedly through Act 3, and was ultimately defeated by Azazel and his adventurer allies. Last seen partied up with Shadowdagger during the A4 world bounty in Azazel's dungeon, but they left the party after having enough of the rogue.

Nate

A dashing cleric who partied up with Shadowdagger during the most recent world bounty in Azazel's dungeon.

Xiuyang

A warrior who partied up with Shadowdagger during the most recent world bounty in Azazel's dungeon, although she indicated she might ditch the group due to her distaste for their behaviour and instead join up with Alex/Jared/Lana.

Amara, Grungil, Selena & Friends

A group of adventurers who are off-again on-again rivals of Azazel. They frequently raid his dungeon. Originally started with the core duo of Amara and Grungil. Since then, Selena, Tashila, and Celestina became core members, while Sam and Kiedan frequently join them as well. Often called "Amara's party" or sometimes "Grungil's party" for brevity, but Amara and Grungil co-lead the group. Although they repeatedly raided his dungeon for the past three acts, Azazel managed to convince them to ward adventurers away when the lich attacked his dungeon, and then convinced them to help him win it back. Celestina and later Selena ended up defecting to work with Azazel, although they still have a great deal of mutual fondness for their old party.

Amara

An almost 7ft tall hulking barbarian woman. She wields a gigantic maul. The more bold, adventurous, and reckless of the core duo. She is slow to trust Azazel, but is willing to help him out of she thinks that it'll give her the chance to beat up him and his minions again later.

Grungil

A short dwarf with the 'arcane archer' class, who specializes in firing elemental arrows from his crossbow. The more responsible and agreeable of the core duo. He has a soft spot for Azazel, and is happy to give the MC a hand in between raids on his dungeon.

Sam

A young, shy human cleric who sometimes adventures with Amara's party. He tends to make somewhat rash decisions in battle.

Kiedan

A bard who sometimes accompanies Amara's party. He's a powerful support character but **** when cornered.

Tashila

A paladin who originally adventured with Sarah, then joined up with Amara's party at the same time that Sarah did. She hasn't mentioned what god she worships, although whoever it is is much more liberal than Enileve. A powerful and determined front-liner.

Selena's group

Selena

Originally a tall human 'invoker,' a class which can use a range of powerful magic by spending rare gems. Joined up with Amara's party way back in Act 1 and became a more and more key member of it, to the point where she's now a core member. Intrigued by Azazel's strange powers and contracts. Azazel convinced her to become his sponsored adventurer in the quest for the Radiant Soul, giving her great power but also binding her to him. She is now a 'stormsoul', a mage who uses daemonic power to control wind and lightning. She operates with some independence from Azazel and is still technically an adventurer, but her fate is bound to his.

Lucia, Becca, & Sandra

Three particularly slutty elven adventurers who met Azazel while imprisoned in Zigrag's dungeon. They're ambitious and not afraid to use their bodies to get what they want, thoroughly enjoying it along the way. Lucia, their de facto leader, is a magus (spellblade), while Sandra is a warrior and Becca a cleric. Helped Azazel clear out Zigrag's dungeon, and came back to help him win back his dungeon from Akserrak. Now summoned into Arkus by Azazel and contracted to work with Selena as her new adventuring party.

Radiant Soul

Adventurers who are competing with Azazel & Selena in the quest for the Radiant Soul, a powerful artifact which allows an adventurer summoned into Arkus to pass the level cap. It's rumoured that this is the first step on the road to godhood.

Darran

A likeable and skilled rogue whose greatest weakness is his fondness for women. He's allied with the hags in the quest for the Radiant Soul. Lucia & her friends easily seduced him and are now spying on him for Azazel and Selena.

Auril "The Ice Queen"

An extremely powerful cryomancer who's been level 50 for quite some time. Azazel first met her when she killed him during his very first world bounty, in pursuit of an exclusive cosmetic Imporne Imp bikini. She's allied with Aura in the quest for the Radiant Soul, and longtime acquaintances with her rival Chanra.

Chanra "Blade of the Heavens"

An extremely powerful crusader who's been level 50 for quite some time. Killed Azazel for another Imporne Imp bikini not long after Aura did. She's allied herself with Chronos in the quest for the Radiant Soul. Considers her longtime acquaintance Auril to be the only serious obstacle to her victory.

Other Monsters

Imporne

Prometheia, the Great Wyrm of Imporne

A mighty dragon who rules Imporne. She summoned Azazel to her dungeon at the start of Act 4 to tell him about the Radiant Soul near Imporne and enlist his help in ensuring it didn't fall into her enemies' hands. She's a laid back ruler who doesn't see the need to meddle in Imporne's affairs as long as she still remains on top.

Kakkchal

A dragonkin attendant of Prometheia's. Serious but friendly. Developed a camaraderie with Azazel thanks both to the dungeon maids, Azazel's apparent deference to the wyrm, and also a few adventures up Imporne together. He's proud that he's levelled up over ten times since his last ****, since he doesn't keep gained experience on ****.

Vassals

Henreid Gohl

A weak necromancer who Azazel took on as a vassal due to his proximity to the hags, who seem to have a lead on the Soul. He maintains a grimy shack which barely passes as a dungeon.

Vesperia

A powerful nereid who asked to become Azazel's vassal due to chafing under her liege, Aura's, rule. She maintains a luxurious underground lake palace where her and her chosen minions lounge about as enthralled humanoids tend to them and toil away in her forges.

The Contenders

The contenders are the powerful monsters who allied with adventurers in A4 in an attempt to seize the Radiant Soul and set a chosen champion on the path to godhood.

Sahr'rhazad

A djinni who has allied herself with Alastra's party in the contest for the Radiant Soul. She's one of the weaker contenders alongside Azazel, and generally fairly agreeable. She was defeated by Azazel after Alastra's party betrayed her, and begrudgingly accepted her defeat after realizing she was out of the contest without the adventurers. Now has a tentative agreement to help out Azazel and potentially become a vassal in the future.

The Hags

A coven of hags who have allied with Darran in the contest for the Radiant Soul. They're some of the weaker contenders, alongside Sahr'rhazad and Azazel, but seem to have a lead on its position. Have agreed with Azazel not to interfere with one another unless either of them finds the Soul itself.

Chronos

An ancient, insane wizard who seems to have no interest in being a dungeon boss. Abducts monsters from the surrounding area, who are never seen again. Azazel wants nothing more than to avoid him if at all possible. He is one of the two most powerful contenders in the quest for the Radiant Soul, and has allied himself with Chanra.

Aura

An archfae queen who has allied herself with Auril in the quest for the Radiant Soul. She is one of the two most powerful contenders, and considers everyone but Chronos beneath her notice. She has an oppressive, regal presence which is hard to resist.

Caranthus

Aura's husband and king consort, a powerful fae in his own right although not her equal.

Past Foes

Akserrak

An ancient and powerful adventurer who sealed his soul into a mana crystal long ago to become a lich. David's group freed him from the icy dungeon Azazel visited at the end of Act 2, and after granting them necromantic powers and brainwashing them he set out to conquer Imporne. After Azazel refused to swear allegiance to him, he defeated Azazel, stole his dungeon, and was ultimately defeated and destroyed in turn by Azazel after the MC tricked the lich into wearing the magic-sealing amulet. The lich's soul being sealed in a mana crystal allowed it to be offered as a sacrifice on Azazel's altar.

Zigrag

A goblin rogue who stole a claimant crystal. He has set himself up as a nascent dungeon boss and new chief of the goblins. He attacked Azazel's lair and tried to kidnap Mariel, back when she was still a prisoner. Allied with Akserrak. Azazel captured his dungeon and used the claimant crystal for mana. After being defeated several times without a lair, he has presumably reverted to being the low-level goblin rogue he began his journey as.

Feathers

A goblin barbarian who became a champion in Zigrag's dungeon. Her fate after Zigrag's defeat is unknown: she chose not to join Azazel and has not been seen since.

Major Figures

Enileve

Goddess of purity. Arialle was once a priestess of hers, and Mariel and Seramiel were her angels.

Zoxxzzixxaith

A daemon lord, the "duke of magma," who Azazel met in Broadbridge. Surprisingly down-to-earth beneath his public persona, and is keeping track of Azazel. He's given Azazel a bit of help, but it's hard to say what he hopes to get out of it all. He claims to just be bored. Most notably, he gave a slight hint to Azazel about how to approach the Akserrak situation, and gave him a book on summoning rituals which described how adventurers can summon daemons to their plane. Azazel used this book to lure Alastra into a bad deal which was ultimately her downfall.
