[Author's Note]

Some of you may have noticed the update frequency drop off a cliff, and there's a reason for that actually.

I have ADHD, and one of the ways that affects my life is that I often get hyper-absorbed in something for anywhere between two days and two weeks.

I'll basically use that thing as my source of dopamine I guess. Maybe I'll spend a week playing Star Wars games and watching lore videos on YouTube, or a fortnight writing X-Men smut all day, whatever.

That's why the updates were so fast for a while, I literally used all my downtime writing, even in class, to pump out 1-2 chapters every day. The fact is, I'm just not interested in writing right now. I do want to continue the story, but I won't **** myself if I'm not enjoying it.

So until another burst of inspiration arrives, I probably won't be updating this much if at all. What's the point if the quality suffers and you don't even get quantity? It could be awhile but I'll be back to finish the first arc at least.

I do actually have pretty extensive notes and an idea where the story could end, but that's a long way down the line, and I might never get there so no promises. At least one arc, if I get really invested like before, maybe the second one; then probably another hiatus.

Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear, but I felt like I owed all the dedicated readers a little context. On that note, I never expected that so many people would like my story this much. I do think it's good, but I just didn't think it'd have this kind of reach.

I encourage anyone who hasn't to try writing their own branch, or their own story even. You learn a lot and it gives you a new appreciation for the work that goes into a good story.
