(Subplot) Seeking Reassurance

Melanie had finally dealt with everything she needed to for now and arrived back in her room where she flopped herself down on the bed looking despondent. James could instantly see something was wrong.

"What's the matter, gorgeous?" he asked as he sat down next to his girlfriend and gently stroke her back.

"How come this experience is like a holiday for most of the glitches but it's nothing but hassle for me every single day?" she complained, not without justification.

"What's happened this time?"

"Okay, so you know how we have a pact to be completely open and honest with each other about everything?" Mel began as she sat up "I need to ask you something"

"Anything" James nodded.

"Do you like me because I'm an ENF?"

"What is that, one of those personality type tests?" James seemed confused "I don't pay any attention to them, but I adore your personality so.."

"No it's not that. It means embarrassed naked female"

"What?"

"Embarrassed naked female"

Even saying the words was making Melanie blush. As she felt her cheeks redden, she realised everything Lucy had said about her really had been true.

"Well you're definitely a naked female. I don't know about embarrassed though, you usually seem pretty confident"

"I think I'm okay around you because you are the one person who is actually supposed to see me naked. And I'm okay around the other glitches, for the most part. It feels quite normal to be naked in the mansion. But the moment I'm around anyone else, especially if it's people wearing clothes, I do get very embarrassed, and I've tried hiding it but I can't"

"I'd say that's incredibly normal though" James reassured her.

"Not when I have been like this for more than two years. Everyone else has got used to their nudity by now, but it's obvious at this point I'm never going to" Melanie realised "And it turns out ENF is this massive kink loads of people have, and Lucy says I'm the absolute poster girl for it. That's why I keep getting sent out to do all the humiliating public stuff"

"That was very blunt of Lucy"

"I put a truth spell on her" Mel admitted "And I was so pissed off with her that I haven't even reversed it yet, So if there was anything you wanted to ask Lucy, now would be a good time"

"I'll keep that in mind" James rested his hand on Melanie's thigh "But to answer your earlier question, I fancied the pants off you when you were fully clothed, so no"

"But did you find me looking awkward at the football hotter than, say, Barbie being completely confident when she is naked in front of the cameras?"

"It's a pointless question, I find you hotter than Barbie. And hotter than everyone else too for that matter, so I can't make comparisons"

"But did you think it was hot when I was on the sideline at the game?"

"You and the mascot was definitely cute" James admitted "But when I saw you looking unhappy, no I didn't think it was hot. I wanted you back home with me. You can ask Lexie"

At that point he probably should have stopped talking, but didn't.

"But then I love you, and as you say, I'm supposed to see you naked so it didn't feel taboo. Maybe if it had been Sophie up there.."

"What? Sophie?" Mel cut in loudly and abruptly "You like Sophie?"

"I'm talking theoretically. Out of all the glitches she is the one who looks and acts most like you, and she gets a bit embarrassed too. And you wanted me to be completely honest and to help you try and understand this ENF thing. So yes, if it were her that might have been hot. I'm sure I would have felt bad about enjoying it, but my dick has a mind of its own."

"So basically you fancy my best friend? Can this day get any worse!" Melanie folded her arms.

"I don't fancy her! Fuck Mel, If you wanted me to I'd happily leave here tomorrow and never see a naked woman other than you ever again. But you wanted to get to the bottom of this right? And I'm just saying, ENF is probably something people are naturally wired to get off on"

"I know, I'm sorry" Mel sighed as she rested her head on James' shoulder "It's just that this whole being an ENF thing is a lot to deal with, on top of suddenly being the head witch here and everything else. And everyone seems to have forgotten about Rebecca but I just know she is going to do something soon"

"Yeah, it's a lot" James admitted as he pushed Melanie gently down onto the bed "But I know a good way to get all of that stress out of you"
