(Subplot) Cassie discovers the truth

It had already been half a year since she joined Charlie’s tech company, NA. Shortly after accepting her new position at his company, she decided to move in with Charlie since working together made it easier for commutes to HQ and they both agreed that it would ultimately help to strengthen their overall relationship. Her relationship with Charlie couldn’t be any better as they were so close that she knew he was her soulmate. She knew the day where he proposed was not too far into the future and she was excited about it. She was also damn good at her job and according to Charlie, she was setting records with getting women signed up and helping them truly rediscover themselves.

The bonus checks were really nice and Charlie encouraged her to keep them as every bit of money she earned was unnecessary considering how much more Charlie was making. She decided to put that money into a different account (essentially a rainy day fund) should she want to splurge. Basically six months of those bonuses was enough money for her to retire and to not have to work another day in her life. Cassie had questions on why the bonuses were so huge and what the semantics were with the women that she helped but Charlie said even he didn’t know what happened after the women got through 75% of the program.

Cassie trusted Charlie’s every word and honestly helping women every day seemed to really cause her to know that she was truly earning her money. Cassie was at home waiting for Charlie to get home but instead got a text:

Hey babe! I know we had dinner plans but it seems that I am needed later to help with a tech issue that affects the overall usage of the app. If I don’t get this fixed, all the good work we do could come crumbling down. Please don’t fell like you need to wait up for me and I love you so much.

Cassie was saddened by the text but knew Charlie was incredibly important to NA and it seemed like the whole thing would fall apart if not for him. Cassie decided a night in wouldn’t be so horrible as it was the first one in a few weeks where she wasn’t exhausted and just wanting to sleep. Cassie normally used Charlie’s tablet to catch up on her favorite shows since he said the 80” giant screen television was not a smart television. Cassie that evening had reached for the tv remote and turned it on just to watch basic cable to kill some time until Charlie got back.

Cassie was confused at first with what channel she was watching as it looked like live feed from a video camera. She watched it a bit hoping it was a crime drama station but determined it was a security feed that Charlie must have set up to run through the tv. She almost turned off the tv when she realized it was a live feed of a room she had never seen. Cassie hit the channel button and quickly discovered that the channel button didn’t change the channel but instead the feed of a different camera. Cassie was looking at someone’s apartment and a few screens later was a naked woman that she had signed up a few days ago.

Cassie felt like a voyeur watching this woman roam around naked in her apartment but like a ton of bricks falling on her came the thought: (Why the hell did Charlie have cameras in someone else’s apartment?) Cassie was stunned to see the naked woman grab her purse and head out the door without any clothes. Cassie kept hitting the channel button and saw at least three different apartments with naked women that Cassie had signed up. Cassie’s brain was connecting the dots and understanding the darker side of the app that involved the women getting naked and going out into public. Cassie got to the last feed that made her heart pit into her stomach.

Cassie saw another naked woman that she had helped get into the program and…Charlie. Charlie was not only naked but he was fucking her. Cassie felt her heart ache and tears started to flow…She had trusted him this whole time and thought nothing while doing this job. Cassie turned off the tv and went to her bedroom to begin packing her stuff. She was not staying any longer after seeing Charlie cheating behind her back and assuming that all of those women were basically being groomed to fuck him. She changed into some yoga pants and a hoodie with some flip flops with her filled bag as she planned to find somewhere else to stay since her old apartment and stuff were long gone, but refused to stay one more second in Charlie’s place.
