Chapter 11

What should I start with?
'Run into' Asa
Asa kept her body tight and her admirers horny by running through the park every morning. We used to do that together. I hadn't gone since we broke up, but now, I went back. Andre's apartment wasn't that far from the park, so I figured there was a good chance she'd be there.
She was. I didn't approach her, just ran the way I always had, ignoring her completely. I'd messed things up because I'd turned from the man she loved into a depressed mopey little bitch. Chasing her would make it seem like I was still that. No, I was just back to my life. I'd also jerked off twice to make sure that I was...calm if she spoke.
I stopped at the place we always stopped and got a drink. As she ran past, I nodded politely to her, like we actually were amicable exes. On her next loop, I was finishing my drink and rising, only for her to stop at my table. "Eli? That you? Haven't seen you here in a while."
I smiled. "Asa, good to see you. Yeah, I've been busy with the new job, but gotta keep in shape. I see you're sticking to your routine." It took an effort of will to keep the glance short and polite, as she looked hot as hell.

"New job, congratulations! You can spring for a drink then?"
I laughed, "Sure. Stay here," I ordered, though I doubt it would be worth much and bought her the ridiculously sweet drink she loved after an exercise. "So what's the new job?"
"Arkham. You're looking at one of the senior guards," I said with a smile.
"Jesus, Eli, you looking to commit suicide?"
I waved off her concern, even if it made me feel good, and bad. "It's not that bad and the pay's good." That was true. It was better than my old job, but it sort of had to be, as it was, actually that bad, but that wouldn't help.
"Seriously?"
"I won't claim it's safe, but the inmates mostly aren't actually crazy and killing guards doesn't get them good treatment. It's more dangerous than being a cop," I patted her hand, "but it also pays better and has full benefits. Don't worry," I ordered, though I doubted that she was going to obey that one, which was nice. "So, what's going on with you?"
Her face fell a little bit as I put her in an awkward position. I laughed.
"You don't have to feel guilty, Asa. We broke up."
"Yeah, we did."
I couldn't let her off the hook that easy. "And I'm doing fine, now." Just a hint of emphasis on that last word and...
"Yeah, but...you were in a bad place, and I just ran away," she looked down.
"You tried to help and I appreciate it. But, if you're feeling bad," I shrugged. "Apologize."
"I am sorry, Eli. Genuinely."
"Forgiven." She smiled broadly at me. "Now say thank you, sir."
She blushed more deeply, punched me in the arm, which hurt a lot more than it should, so much so that I didn't actually hear the words leave her full lips. The phone in my pocket buzzed slightly. I didn't break our locked gazes. She did, taking another drink of her absurd concoction.
"Tell me, was that for the drink, or the forgiveness?" I teased, though phrasing it as an order too.
"Jerk." She punched my arm again and it took everything I had not to wince. I really had to get that stupid perk fixed. I managed to raise an eyebrow and probably looked a bit pained, so she actually answered. "Both."
"Besides, to be honest, you walking out was the kick in the pants I needed to get off my ass."
"Still, I should ha--"
"Forgiven. Say it."
She shook her head at me. I gave her a mock glare. Her hands rose. "Forgiven."
"Good." I winked at her and changed the topic. "So, tell me, are you taking the new man back to Kianna's place? Just want to know if I need to avoid Wicker Street. Or warn the PD to increase patrols over there."
She laughed. Her mom had not been thrilled to find the two of us having a very pleasant shower. I actually had a scar from the encounter as she'd been throwing things at me, then chasing me with bat, and I'd caught my hip on the corner of the counter, tearing the shit out of it, as I fled. And things had never gotten any better. She hated everything about me. That I wasn’t Japanese, that I wasn’t religious, that I swore, that I was fucking her daughter, that we weren’t married, that we were dating. I wasn’t exactly fond of her either…
My phone buzzed again, which was weird. No way I'd reached two checkpoints that fast, and there was nothing to give me an achievement...
"No way, he's married. It's an open marriage, but if mom found out, she'd flip."
Ah, that explained it. And was definitely true, her mom was religious and hated how slutty Asa was. Breaking the holy bonds of matrimony might well totally destroy their relationship. Though, I had no earthly idea what had happened with Asa's father, or whether they were married. Neither did she, her mom wouldn't talk about it. But the bitch had never had any relationships, despite plenty of men from her church chasing around after her. I'd received more than one 'talking to' from an older Asian man, coming out of her house that was actually hunting for information about her, before they got used to me.
"Oh, no, don't tell me you're doing the whole throuple thing in some uptown apartment? I want to believe that's all just press bullshit, not real." Of course, I knew she wasn't.
She laughed and shook her head. "No, no. I met her to make sure he wasn't full of shit, but she's got no interest in women." She paused then gave me a considering look, then smiled. "Actually, I think you might be her type. And she's smoking hot too."
That I knew, I'd looked up Andre and his wife. I remembered Diamond's wedding photo.

The offer hung there. I shrugged. "I wouldn't want to mess anything up for you."
"Nah, they're totally open, I promise, plus," she stopped. "I shouldn't say that."
I knew her. That was a hard limit. "I can't tell you that," would have been teasing. Shouldn't was a moral statement that she wasn't going to break.
"Well, I trust your taste in women more than your taste in men. If you say she's good, I'm willing to give her a shot. Set us up," I said it like it was a decision, but it was also an order, to do what she'd already decided to. I was getting good at that.
"Deal," she offered me her hand. I shook it formally like we were concluding a business deal, but as I started to rise, she didn't release me, instead she pulled me in close and whispered in my ear, "but she's had two kids, no way she'll be as tight as me. No one you ever fuck will be as tight, as good, as wet, or as eager as me. No pussy you ever find will taste as good, or be as good as mine. And don't you forget it." She kissed me on the cheek, then released me.
That was fucking bait. But I didn't think it was for sex, Asa was never a cheater. Indeed, she was almost annoyingly ethical about that...but then again.
I was leaned in close already, so I whispered a question. "Tell me the truth," I already knew it, "does your new man dick you better than me?"
"No," she whispered.
"And is your side of the relationship open?"
"Not yet. But soon."
I raised a brow.
"It's complicated."
I pushed and got the explanation, apparently it was only when he was also fucking a woman who wasn't his wife, or her, that she could get her own male partner. He was fine with her having as many female partners as she liked. This was dumb, but he had the cash and the apartment.
"Bit insecure, isn't he?"
She shrugged.
"Compensating for something?"
She blushed and I laughed. She grabbed my hand. "You can't say anything!"
"I won't, but you gotta promise you'll let me give you what you need, once you can."
She nodded eagerly.
"Is that a promise?" I teased.
Three fingers rose in a parody of the boy scout salute, then transformed to one, "I promise."
"Oh, and talk me up to his wife. I'm sure she deserves some good dick too."
She laughed, but was finishing her drink. I should go first. I reached for my phone and pulled it out. "Oops, gotta run. Don't be a stranger, Asa."
"You either, Eli," she said as I left her.
I waited until I was in my car to check the app.
How'd I done?
