Does He Change A Word? Or Does He Leave His Phone With The Shop Again?
''...he is extremely DUMB''
''Fucking assholes must take me for an idiot'' he snarled at his phone slightly, pausing where he stood and changing the word Skeptical for the word Dumb.
He smacked the confirm change button before throwing his phone back in his pocket and starting to march towards the door, a feeling of nausea washing over him just a moment later as he stumbled and leaned himself up against the wall, his head feeling fuzzy.
Just as quickly, the feeling was gone and he pushed himself back away from the wall, ready again to stomp into the store and ask to speak to one of the tech guys. He reached out and grabbed the door handle, grunting as it refused to budge no matter how hard he yanked on it.
The sound of giggling girls behind him making him turn around to see a group of young people, a few girls and a few guys all staring at him, the girls mostly giggling while one of the guys was holding his phone up, pointing the camera at John. The tallest guy in the group stepped forwards, towards him, with a smug smile on his face.
''The door is push to open bro'' He said, reaching past John and holding the door open
John looked between the guy and the door a few times before nodding ''Uh, thanks''
''No problem bro. Come on babe, It's super cool in here, they've got AC'' The tall guy motioned towards his group, one girl stepping forwards first and giving John a derisive glare as she walked past him, he rest of the group doing similarly a moment later.
John sighed, approaching the counter and seeing Melody trying to hold back a little smirk. Clearly she had found his trouble with the door funny as well as the other girls, something which didn't help Johns mood either.
''My phone's still busted, it's got a uh...'' He paused, trying to find the right word for the app he didn't want
As he was searching for his words, A look of concern crossed Melody's face ''I'm sure our techs will have done everything they could, what seems to be the problem?'' She asked
''This... thingy it's... it wont go away'' He pulled out his phone and started thumping his index finger against the screen ''See'' He said, turning the device towards Melody so she could see the screen. A message saying ''Incoherent input, please stick to word limit and try avoiding made up words. Thanks!'' with a red background glowing softly behind it.
''Umm, have you tried rebooting it?'' Melody asked
''Re-Uh... Re what?'' John asked, not having quite caught what she said.
''Switching it off and on again''
''No, I uh....'' John scrunched his eyebrows and brought a hand up to roughly rub at his eyes as he struggled to try and find his words, his other hand coming down to rest the phone on top of the counter.
''Okay, sir, just follow me for a sec okay?'' She came out from behind the counter and laid a hand on his shoulder, leading him to a padded bench they had over in one corner of the store ''I'll get someone to help you in just a second''
She grabbed her own phone from under the counter and dialled up emergency services, setting Johns phone down out of sight.
''Yeah, uh, hi. I'm at the tech store down by the mall, I think we have a customer suffering heatstroke or something. He's really confused and kind of incoherent''
Melody went silent as the operator on the other end of the phone spoke to her, glancing towards John who was still sitting at the bench as she missed the message that suddenly appeared on the screen of his phone
''Assessing user capability: Cognitive Deficiency. Reassigning Ownership''
The cashier however, didn't even notice this as she grabbed a bottle of water from behind the counter, opening the lid and handing it over to John
''Yeah, we've got AC, so it's nice and cool in here, I just gave him some water. Great, thanks. See you guys in a few minutes'' She said, hanging up her phone.
She hung up the phone just as the screen on Johns phone went dark again.
