Chapter 2 by n1nety3 n1nety3

"I can see that. tell me what do you want?" he replied.

"I'm hungry. Where can I find something to eat?" I called out to the stall master, my stomach growling with hunger.

The stall master responded with annoyance, "I hope the Counter Master has explained how things work." He then called out, "Felix!"

Felix Stalwart's arrival was swift, and he waved in greeting as he approached me.

"Hello, newcomer. Hungry, aren't ya? Well, you're not alone. Name's Felix Stalwart, ID 76-1-94162, your friendly Urban Guide to this place."

He grabbed my hand and gave it a firm shake, his eyes briefly locking onto my ID number, 93-2-00001.

"Now, my friend, let's discuss food."

With a quick step, he moved out from behind the stall and placed his hand on my shoulder, guiding me as we walked together.

"You see, in this city, we've got various ways to satisfy our hunger. You may have heard about the Marketplaces with their luxurious offerings, but there's more to it."

He gestured toward the upper floors of the buildings where the more affluent residents conducted their business.

"If you've got valuables or a service to offer, you can dine like royalty up there. But if you're like most of us, you'll want to explore the hidden corners of this city. That's where the real flavor is; sometimes, it won't cost you more than a trade or two."

Felix leaned in, his face revealing a mischievous grin.

"The true treasures lie in 'Barter Alley,' over on the east side. You'll find people there willing to trade all sorts of goods for a decent meal. Just be cautious; not everyone's as friendly as me."

His voice dropped to a hushed tone.

"Now, if you're truly down on your luck, there's talk of an underground network called Culinary Nexus that provides food to those in need. It's a risky venture, though, and not something you should discuss openly."

Felix Stalwart's words painted a vivid picture of survival within the city's walls, and I realized that my journey would involve more than just satisfying my hunger—it would require mastering the art of survival in a place where memories held immeasurable value.

"So, where would you like to start?"
