two years later

"Hey Kasumi," said our neighbor Akane. I turn to look at her with a smile as I wave at her with my free hand. the other was filled with groceries. it has been two years since Ryu found me in the river and despite the lack of memories from before I am happy with the new ones, I had made here.

"Are you feeling all right Ryu said. you were not feeling well," she asked in concern.

I put the bags down and start to sign to her. many of the townspeople learned and I am thankful for that. "Yes, I went to the doctor, and he was quick to figure out what was wrong," I had signed to her.

"that's good," she said with a smile. "Hey me and the other girls are getting together Friday for a get together and gossip."

"I'll be there," I sign to her.

"Great we are meeting at Shiho's," Akane said.

I nod my head in acknowledgement before reaching down and taking my groceries. I then make my way back to mine and Ryu's house. once inside I start to put the stuff away. while doing that i also pull out a few items to start supper.

I am thankful that harry was willing to teach me how to cook. all it took was working part time as a waitress for his stall. sometimes while working I would get a brief memory of an old man and his daughter at a similar stand, but I could never make out their faces.

shaking that thought from my head I get started on the spaghetti and meatballs. while I was cooking the food I start to hum and think about what the doctor had said. How am I going to tell Ryu what he said? those thoughts clouded my thoughts as I finish the food.

"Kasumi I'm home," said Ryu. I turn to him with a smile as I walk up to him and capture his lips with my own. we had started dating a few months into staying here. "I don't know what my life was like before here, but I do believe I have never been happier than when I am with him.

"So, what did the doc say," he asked.
