the following day

The following morning Emily was heading down to get some breakfast. When she entered the kitchen she saw Stevie was there already.
“Good morning Emily.” Her brother said to her.
“Hi Stevie.” She waved back
Stevie was already dressed, reading the newspaper while having a box of cereal and an empty bowl next to him. He must have seen some interesting article while preparing his meal.
Emily was still wearing her PJ's. It wasn’t much, just some panties and a long T-shirt that hung over it.

While Emily was rummaging through the fridge Stevie told her. “Could you hand me the milk, please?”
Unconsciously, Emily grabbed the milk and put it on the table.
“Thanks sis.” Stevie replied.
“Hang on,” Emily thought to herself. “Did I even think about giving him the milk?”
Bah, it was too early in the morning, she couldn’t think straight.
“You know, this article here says women are more eager to show off their looks when they know the people around them think they’re pretty.”
Emily took a strawberry yoghurt and closed the fridge. “Yeah? So?”
Stevie grinned at Emily “Did I ever tell you you’re pretty?”
“Hah, nice try. I won’t start wearing revealing clothes for you.” See, she said no, that means her brother is not her master. The curse didn’t work.
“Too bad.” Stevie said a little saddened.

Today was quite an uneventful day, really. She talked with a friend on the phone, had dinner, then went shopping for groceries. As you’re unpacking, you notice you bought a magazine for motorcycles.
Wait a moment. A magazine? She went to a grocery store, they don’t sell magazines there. And she doesn’t remember having been at any book stores so … how did she get it. And motorcycles? The only person here who liked motorcycles was her brother Stevie.

“Oh well, no use crying over spilled milk.” Emily thought.
She went to the living room where she met her brother. He was watching an episode of top gear.
“Hey Stevie.” Emily called out to him. “I got you something.”
She then threw the motorcycle magazine on the sofa next to her brother.
“Ow, thanks Emily. That’s really nice of you.”
“Yeah well, I came across it by chance and thought you’d like it.”
“Aww, you’re such a nice sister. How can I thank you?”
