stay for coffee

You engage in the usual small-talk, finding again that she is just not as clever and educated as many think, but that is the way it has always been. She wants a coffee, so you make her one. As she starts to sip on it, she comes to her point.

"You know, my friend has just lost his job, after we have moved to the new flat. We wondered if you could..."

She did not finish, as she fell asleep. Of course, she did. You picked up the cup and put it back, while watching your sister, her head on the table and her glasses still on. She had toppled slowly over and you had caught her with your hand, so that she would not get hurt by falling. All this had happened in a rush, not allowing you time to make a plan before. You feel a bit puzzled now about what to do.
