she thinks she knows

As you sat down you could have sworn Erica and Auntie shared a knowing look but you didn't say anything, wanting to draw as little attention to yourself as possible. Auntie sat a small plate of peas, carrots and some sort of green noodles in front of you, the same as Erica's.

"Can..is there any meat?" Your voice was barely above a whisper as you were still afraid of drawing attention to your condition.

"Sorry sweetpea, we're vegetarians." You grumbled as you picked at the noodles. A cursory sniff told you they were zucchini. "Besides, meat has too many hormones that lead to **** and sexual aggression." Auntie sat across from you with her own plate, her gaze shifted and became steely when you caught her eye. Not only did she blame you for what happened with Erica but she blamed meat as well.

"What about protein?"

"If that's your concern I can start you on some supplements." What you thought was a clever counter was quickly thrown aside by a woman who had heard it all before.

You sighed dejectedly, "Okay." Arguing was never your strong suit. You picked at your food and found the noodles to be surprisingly tasty. Dinner was relatively tame, no one said anything about your clothes. Auntie seemed to almost expect it and Erica was clearly enjoying your suffering. After dinner auntie brought you a small plastic cup filled with four pills. "What's this for?"

"Protein and other vitamins. Suddenly eating no meat can have some strange effects on your body. But trust me, you'll be healthier and happier." You took the pills and swallowed them with the chocolate milk she offered. "It's soy chocolate." She explained when you made a face.

"It's actually good." It was, surprisingly.

"See. I know what I'm doing. Now, you two go play before bed and I'll come tuck you in later."
