Hours upon hours passed. Sophia sat on the edge of her cot wrapping a fresh bandage around her wounded thigh. Bodgan and the gypsy girl lay in each other's arms behind her, the stoic soldier snoring softly. Sophia did her best to not disturb them. While they weren't heading directly into combat, her youth fighting through the streets informed her that they could come under attack at any moment. As she fixed the safety pin into place, she felt Sgt Albescu's eyes upon her. She glanced up at him, and smiled faintly. He made no effort whatsoever to hide his leer from her. She appreciated honesty in a man.

On the second day, her leg ached terribly. She took her antibiotics, but was worried the puncture wound was getting infected. She shifted uncomfortably on her cot as her strong thigh muscles knitted themselves back together. Bodgan dug around in his kit until he produced a brownish-orange bottle of pills.
