You chose the purple ones since it was your favorite color and you didn't think you would feel comfortable wearing a thong. You couldn't imagine how girls would be. "Good choice." Lyla smiled as she tossed you the panties. You snatched the panties briefly exposing yourself to your cousin before hiding it once again. She turned around stifling a giggle. "It's okay sweetie, it's just us girls here."
"Girls...right." You quickly slipped on your cousin's panties. You caught sight of yourself in the mirror and grimaced.
"You look fine sweetie. Here, try this." She handed you a dress the same color as your new panties. You twisted the dress this way and that. Confused how to put it on. Lyla giggled, "Here." She took the dress from you and held it out for you to step into. Stepping into it, she pulled the straps up to your arms before turning you around to face the mirror as she zipped the dress into place. You tentatively caressed the feminine finery. It really was a beautiful dress, so soft and delicate you feared it would rip like you were the hulk on a rampage if you moved too much. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have laughed. Not many girls like us know about feminine things.
"It's fine." You mumbled, your deep voice a stark anachronism to how you were now dressed. You stared at your short hair and wondered if it was too obvious that you were a boy in a dress. The dress itself hugged your lack of curves. 'I'm gonna get my ass beat for sure.' you thought. 'I can't do this, I have to tell her the truth.'
"No. It's not. I should know better." Suddenly she hugged you from behind. "I was so scared and felt so alone and.." her breath shuddered. "I wouldn't be here if mom hadn't told me you were like me."
'Well, shit.'
"I learned everything I could so I could be there for you when you needed me and I laugh at you right out of the gate."
"It's really okay. It was pretty silly." You turned around and embraced Lyla. "I'm not upset. Really." You don't remember her being this emotional when she was a boy. You couldn't imagine what kind of hell she must have gone through when you two were apart. Though you feared you just might. "I'm a grown..girl who doesn't know how to dress herself." You chuckled, it felt odd calling yourself a girl and you quickly laughed at how ridiculous it was. Lyla soon joined in on.
Taking a moment to collect herself and wipe her eyes she sat you at a desk facing a large mirror. A flip of a switch and the edges turned on revealing large hidden lights.
"Oh that's cool."
"Thanks. Mom got it for me when I started doing makeup classes."
"There are makeup classes?"
"Oh yeah, there are classes for pretty much everything. Your better makeup stores will have some once a month or more for young girls or trans people even. I even saw some dad's there learning to help their daughters with their makeup. It was the sweetest thing."
"Sounds like." She delicately took your chin in her hand as she examined your face.
"You are a very pretty girl. You're so lucky."
"T-thanks." You **** a smile on your face. You knew she meant it as a compliment, but you had been picked on since the sixth grade for having such a girly face. She started by applying primer to points under your eyes and on your forehead and above and below your lips before she set about with a brush to blend it in. You giggled. "That tickles."
She smiled, remembering she felt the same way her first time, before she spoke again. "The problem a lot of girls do their first time is putting too much. The trick to makeup is to make people believe you're not wearing any. A bit backwards, I know." Her tone had shifted from the girl you had just learned she was to one not necessarily a teacher but more like an older sister teaching her little sister how to do makeup. "We'll have you try it later, but I thought you'd want to look your best for your first time out." You couldn't hide the look of fear in your eyes even if you had tried. "Don't worry sweetie, I'll be there with you the entire time."
