Shiro decided that in this case, her stomach would come before generosity. The village would have to fend for itself, and she decided to take up an offer for a job as a bodyguard. It paid well, though the representative seeing her was a bit unclear on who it was she would be protecting. Well, as long as the money went through, she had little doubt that her skill could prevent whatever might happen to her wealthy but unprotected employer.

Shiro retired to her room, undressing and meditating a bit before heading to bed. She would be sleeping in the nude, of course, as she so often preferred. Tomorrow would bring her new job, so she'd need to be rested and on her toes.
