With the hotels glass elevator door shutting behind you on the 20th floor, you look along the short corridor in front of you. Room numbers range from numbers 2001 to 2012. The carpet is new and plush, the pictures on the walls mild and unchallenging. A room service trolley sits between rooms 2004 and 2006, with a champagne bucket and an empty bottle lodged in it. The remains of a meal are on the trolley too. Further along there are Do Not Disturb signs around the handles of 2007 and 2010
