and your classes for this week are over

Miss Monica awaits you at her desk. She seems to be in a great mood. ''Mike I'm glad you showed up.''

''So what does this research of yours entail, Miss Monica?'' You ask a bit worried about her project.

''Well as I told you it serves to make people follow certain rules. You could say it's a correctional behavior program.'' She explains. ''Why don't we go over the details in my office.''

You follow Miss Monica into her office. It seems like a perfectly normal office. You notice there's a headset on her desk. Miss Monica offers you to take a seat across her. A bit nervous you sit down on the chair.

''My research examines three stages. First off I will ask you some questions. It is very important that you answer them truthfully. Is that clear, Mike?''

''Yes Miss Monica.'' You reply.

''Good boy, afterwards you will put this VR headset on. Do not be afraid, nothing dangerous is going to happen. I just want you to listen to the audio, that's all.''

''What kind of audio is it?'' You ask out of curiosity.

''Nothing to worry your pretty little head over Mike. It's just a little bit of hypnosis.''

Your eyes turn big as you hear those words. ''Hypnosis? Isn't that dangerous?''

''Of course there's nothing dangerous about hypnosis. Do you really think I would enroll my students into dangerous experiments?''

''Can't you alter people's thoughts with it? And make them do stuff they don't want to do?'' You're truly concerned about the concept of hypnosis. You once saw a man get hypnotized on live television and the magician made him do all kinds of things he couldn't remember afterwards.

''Alter people's thoughts? Make them do what I want?'' Miss Monica snickers. ''Oh I wish I could do that. No dear, that's not how hypnosis works. Hypnosis merely stimulates things you already want for yourself. Let's say you want to be a bit more daring but you just don't know how. Hypnosis can help you make that wish come true. My research should prove that hypnosis can help people abide by the rules. Of course they need to want to follow those rules deep down. Otherwise hypnosis definitely won't prove effective.''

Hearing this puts you more at ease. ''Alright, then what's the third step?''

''For the third and final step of my research I need to evaluate whether the hypnosis succeeded or not. For this I will ask you the same set of question again next friday. That's all there is to it. Pretty simple right?''

''And doing this will keep me out of trouble regarding the attendance requirement right?'' You just want to be sure Miss Monica keeps up her end of the bargain.

''You have my word, as long as you attend every class until the end of the semester of course. Future class skipping won't be tolerated. Do you hear me?'' Miss Monica gives you a strict look.

''Yes Miss Monica.''

'"Good then let us begin your trainin- uhhh I mean my research.''
