Chapter 2 by PixJuran PixJuran

Who is at the door?

a couple

Ellen sat there frozen for a minute, not sure if she should answer the door dressed like she was. She didn't have time to put on something else and she didn't want to be rude and ignore whoever was at the door. Swallowing her self-consciousness, she decided to answer the door.

As she slowly opened the door, she saw that there was a young couple who looked to be about in their mid twenties standing on her doorstep. Both of them had dark hair and lightly tanned skin. The woman was a little taller than she was and had a "girl next door" look about her. The man was about eight inches taller with a handsome frame. He wasn't outrageously handsome, but definitely more attractive than the average Joe. She spotted the matching rings on their fingers, and could tell by the way they stood close and held hands that they must be newlyweds.

"Hello," said Ellen, greeting them while trying to keep most of herself hidden behind the door.

"Hi," said the young woman. "We just moved into the house across the street. My name is Alice and this is my husband Jack. We have a bit of a problem though. The electric company hasn't turned our power on yet, and both of our cell phones are dead since we haven't been able to charge them since we left our old house. Would you mind if we use your phone to call and see if they can turn our power on today?"

Ellen hesitated. She didn't want to be rude to her new neighbors, but how could she invite them in while she was dressed like this. While she debated what to say, she noticed the expression on the man's face change as his eyes began to drop down lightly from her eyes. The woman did the same and she put her hand over her mouth as her cheeks reddened. Ellen just realized that she had been slowly letting the door open, exposing just enough of her body to give her visitors a peek at her sexy attire. The man tried to hide a grin while the woman began to apologize.

Ellen let out a sigh and let the door swing open since there was no point in hiding behind it anymore. "It's quite alright," she said. "It's just me here and you're not interrupting anything. Please come in. The phone is in the kitchen. My name is Ellen, by the way."

The young couple overcame their brief moment of embarrassment and came inside, closing the door behind them. Jack walked over to the kitchen to use the phone. He called the electric company, who promptly put him on hold. While he waited, he could not help but give Ellen a good look over. Alice elbowed him in the ribs a couple of times to snap him out of it, but each time she would give Ellen a discreet smile, as if secretly agreeing with her husband.

Finally, Jack was able to talk to someone to get their power turned back on. As he was talking, Alice pulled out a pen and piece of paper and wrote something down as she looked at the phone and then promptly folded it up and put it back in her purse. She gave Ellen another smile, but then directed her attention back to her husband as he hung up the phone.

"Well, they're sending someone out to turn it on, but it will be a couple of hours," he said. "In the mean time, we better get back to unpacking."

Ellen couldn't help but notice a very brief flash of what looked like disappointment on Alice's face when Jack mentioned that they should leave. Did her guests want to stay? Did she want them to say? A very naughty part of her brain told her to ask them to stay. Hell, she was already dressed to entertain. As the young couple thank her for her hospitality and start to move towards the door, Ellen. . .

What does Ellen do now?
