Your fiancé explains his plans for the following days

You get into the car and watch as your mother kisses your fiancé goodbye. Clearly, she doesn't know about your plans yet. He climbs into the driver's seat and pulls out and onto the road.

"I've already called my lawyers, they're preparing the paperwork we discussed as we speak. The divorce papers should be ready tomorrow morning, but we won't tell your mother until your new identity documents are finalised. Those will take until the weekend, I'm afraid. My guys work fast, but some things take time," he explains.

"That's okay. But won't somebody know I'm your daughter at work?" you ask.
"No, actually, I keep most of my personal matters private. Most people didn't even know I was married," he explains.
"How about the plans to move to the other side of town?" you ask. Internally, this in particular makes you a little nervous - moving houses might lose you any chance of recovering the ring, meaning you'll be stuck in this new life indefinitely.
"Well, I haven't told you this, but our family already owns real estate all over town. I have a penthouse apartment not too far from work. We'll move there on the weekend, so just a couple of days from now."

You stay silent for the next several minutes, and before you know it he's already parking in the underground parking for the office building he works in.
