Your Neighbor

You look through the peephole to see Katie, your cute, redheaded, neighbor, from two doors down the hall. The two of you had been flirting for some time now. Each time you saw her you wanted to ask her out, but you hadn't managed to wrangle up the courage.

Putting on a smile, you open the door.

"Hey neighbor," you say.

"Hey neighbor," she replies, cheerfully. "Any chance you got some sugar I can borrow?"

For a brief moment you thought she wanted you to kiss her. With how you left things last time you saw her, it was a reasonable assumption, but then you see the measuring cup in her hands.

You can't help but laugh.

"Oh, how cliché," you tease. "C'mon in." You gesture inside you apartment and Katie enters, walking by you. She's much shorter than you, the top of her head is just about level with your chest.

The two of you make your way to the kitchen.

"Having a party I see," Katie exclaims, grabbing the bottle of whiskey you left on the counter.

"Yeah, something like that," you reply. "Would you like some?"

Katie shrugs, "why not?"

You grab two glasses, and Katie passes you the ****. You fill your glass significantly more than her's.

"So, what's cooking in apartment 3C?" you ask before taking a large gulp.

"Oh, just some brownies for my niece's bake sale. My sister is too busy with other stuff, so I'm helping out."

"Well, if you've got extra, bring them over here, and I'll consider your sugar debt forgiven."

Katie laughs. "Ha! No chance mister. I'm keeping them all to myself. Besides, you haven't even given me any sugar yet."

"Fair point," you say, taking the measuring cup that had been set on the counter and filling it to the brim. "You now owe me...several million grains of sugar, or something of equal value."

You hand the measuring cup back to Katie before something catches your eye.

"What's that?"
