Chapter 35

CrocodileHAZARD
Do you blackout, or can you remain conscious until the end of it?
You yourself to stay conscious.
Determined to see things through to the end, you muster up all the energy you have left into holding onto consciousness with a **** grip and begin prying yourself out of the crate you were left in.
The exchange between Raven and Rage is far more even this time around. Her voice is somewhat distorted, but still hers. It is gradual, but her blast begins slowly overpowering Rage's, and once it becomes noticeable it quickly begins to close the distance until Rage is struck with the full fury of the majority of emotions that make up Raven's personality. You admit to some mild concern about what would happen if she were to "destroy" her emotion completely.
Despite the initial appearance, however, Rage remains very much intact. Only NOW it resembles the Titan's other emotions. Other than the four, glowing red eyes, the red cloaked copy looks like every other emotion you've encountered since jumping inside of Raven's mirror.
You do not get to see Red Raven for long before she is absorbed by the giant white-wearing Raven. The process appears to be somewhat uncomfortable, but by the end of it there is only one Raven.
Thankfully, she's back to her normal size. And she's back to the tried and true blue cloak. But thinking back to her previous appearance, you cannot help but feel some...mild concern. After all, first you dreamt of a giant red guy that you and a white-cloaked Raven battled, then she asks you for help against an incarnation of her father who bears more than a passing resemblance to your dream.
There are a number of details that are off, but all in all there's a number of them that line up too well to mark off as pure coincidence. Part of you wants to bring the matter up with Raven, but considering what you've learned during your stay, it might not be the best option.
Unfortunately, you're in too much pain physically and mentally to truly give the matter much thought. Right now, you just want to get out of Raven's head and lie down in your bed and go into a coma for a week or two.
With Raven's assistance, you manage to walk to the portal representing the exit. From there, you are once again in your motel room in the same meditative position you started in. Raven, who sits on the bed across from you, is beginning to stir as well.
At that moment, the full impact of your aches and injuries hit you, and you drop on the bed bonelessly.
"Oh thank God...I thought I was gonna die for a minute there."
It's small and you almost miss it, but you clearly hear Raven give a small chuckle at that.
"Don't be a drama queen. You wouldn't have died," she replies.
"Then why does my everything hurt?"
She rolls her eyes before waving her hands over your form, her magic present as she glides over your body. She focuses on anywhere you feel a decent amount of pain. Her last target is your head. But she draws her hands back before doing so.
"Your helmet's in the way," she says.
"You just want to take a peek underneath," you tease.
"Whether I do or not, I can't help with your headache unless I make direct contact with your inflated head," she retorts.
"Ouch, that hurt." No really. You sort of enjoy the playful banter, even if your head feels like the insides of an egg leaking from a cracked shell.
Honestly, that alone is enough to convince you to remove your helmet. Question is, should you?
Can you trust Raven and remove your helmet?
