You take a drink

You blinked several times, your mind trying to come to terms with what had just happened. You were just kissed. By a guy. In public. Dressed as more or less a bimbo. Eye candy for him. EDNA was listening. People were staring.

You raised that drink to your lips and downed it. The burn of the **** felt like it was cleansing the contact of Raymond’s lips and tongue.

Coming out of the self-reflecting fog you looked at Raymond. He was smiling at you. He looked to the bartender and pointed to you and then raised his finger. The barkeep nodded and soon another Cosmo was placed on front of you. Raymond still had a rather possessive grasp around your waist.

“So,” said Raymond, “I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get upstairs.”

You blinked. “Uh... I need to... powder my nose. I’ll be right back.” You cringed slightly as you had to aske the bartender where the ladies room was, but you were soon teetering in your heels into a stall. You immediately pulled the phone out of your purse.

“EDNA!” You shout whispered.

“Yes, Jane? How may I help you? Are you not enjoying your date with your boyfriend?”

“He’s not my boyfriend!”

After a brief pause, a muffled recording of Raymond declaring that you were officially his girlfriend was played back. “Jane, Raymond has clearly stated you are his girlfriend. Should I not delete your dating profiles?”

You ground your teeth. EDNA seemed determined to get you into a relationship. As a woman. With a man. You were either going to be Raymond’s girlfriend or apparently be dating who knows who...
