You stop him

You quickly grab his arm and stop him. "Let me go!" Mark demanded sounding like a woman about to cry, but you didn't Instead you looked ashamed to the ground.

"I'm sorry." You said. "If I had known you would go so far for some idiot like me, I would have ..."

For a moment you could hear nothing but Mark's light sobs, then he suddenly steps in front of you. You look up to meet his eyes, as suddenly he grabs your face and kisses you. You were totally shocked by it, so you didn't move an inch even after Mark ended the kiss. It felt really strange and surprising that not only your best friend had suddenly kissed you, but that he looked like a crying woman.

"You ..." You began and got interrupted by Mark kissing you again. You were confused and got even more confused as Mark did the same each time you tried to say a thing after he broke the kiss.

That went until Mark's tears had dried. Then he realized what he just did and turned around heavily blushing.

"You ..." You began once more, but couldn't find the words.

"I always had thought of you as my best friend, so I wanted to help you. But there was also this pain in my chest, that got so hurtful when I saw you in pain. There I realized." Mark turned around, a prepared expression on his face. "I not only wanted to help you as your best friend, but because I was in love with you!"

You were shocked by his words. You took a few steps back. "You ... what?"

"I always thought it was just normal friendship, but since coming here I started to slowly realize it was more. I'm fucking in love with you! And I didn't wanted to get you lost to somebody, who treated you like nothing but a toy! So I happily gave up being a boy in exchange for getting you out of it! But if you rather wanted to stay a girl, than I didn't had to!"
