You push past Tara and go inside

Your cheeks burning with fresh embarrassment, you look away, put your head down, and push past a pair of girls who were only just walking out to get in before the next group comes out; Tara is lost in the crowd behind you, and whatever she might have said, it looks like she doesn't care enough to follow you.

The classroom is like a tiny auditorium. The steps lead down to the front of the class. White board at the front, pull down projection screen above it. The teacher's desk is on the right hand side of the room, and a back exit from the classroom behind it. The student's desks are on either side of the two stairways, which aren't so much stairways as they are a path empty of desks.

You sit down and involve yourself in the process of getting your things out of your backpack, and it's only now that you start to wonder what the hell you're doing here. Your teacher doesn't know about your condition (and there's that pregnancy reminder again: thanks, brain). The people at the medical center know, but it's not like you've gone out of your way to tell everyone... you've never gone to class as Doe before, and now...

Students are moving around you. People are taking their seats. A handsome guy sits down next to you. His clothes are tight. You can see his muscles through his shirt. He's probably got a six-pack. And when those blue eyes meet yours...
"Hey," he says with a friendly voice. "Are you new? I'm Pete."

Your cheeks flush yet again, and this time it's not just with shame: this guy is HOT. "Doe," you reply. "... I'm new."

"Didn't think they were still letting people add the class," he says with a smile - the kind that reaches his eyes. "Pleased to meet you, Doe."
