You need a new mount

You were reminded on the road home just how much you dislike walking. Riding in a carriage or on an unfamiliar animal is little better. You need a new mount. Who better to provide it than the woman who's tar filled pitfall trap was responsible for killing the last one? Especially with the way Doe taunted and hollered after it happened. Yes, before the tides turned she was oh so proud of killing your magical construct.

If you do things just right you should be able to reimagine Doe into a centaur. As long as you keep the upper half almost entirely human it won't alter her beauty. Except to those who like legs or feet. And while your last ride was a powerful magically shaped creation it was not at all intelligent. A mount with a human mind will be far better than a beast crafted from moss and sinew.

She's a **** you captured in battle too, so there shouldn't be any pesky laws to get in your way. Some complaints from the church and oh-so-good members of the nobility, sure, but that won't stop you. Doe's reaction to being transformed does give you a little to worry about. Can you convince her? Control her? Hmmm... you'll need to do something.

You start trying to picture what Doe will look like as a centauress. What kind of coat should you go for? How big should you make her equine half... Then another thought - who says you have to cross her with a horse? Equines are the obvious choice for this, but other kinds of taurs should be possible. With time and magic you should be capable of re-sizing the other half to suit her, so anything with four legs could be made to work. You go through a short list, trying to imagine Doe with her lower half replaced with that of a reindeer, goat, dog, fox, mountain lion, a cheetah, jaguar, lion or tiger... hell, even a cow could work and that one in particular would have certain benefits.

You try to picture her with some truly odd taur forms too, each weirder than the last, many probably too odd to ever work - like a squirrel lower half, a lizard lower half, a four legged ostrich lower half, or a millipede lower half. Doe with a snake lower half, a lamia, looks pretty nice. 'It has legs,' you think to yourself, then groan internally at your terrible pun.

All of a sudden you realize a good part of the day has flown by. You've spent long enough thinking about the ins and outs of Doe as a taur that the scenery changed. It's not just an idle thought anymore. In your head the phrase 'So... you're actually doing this?' floats across your consciousness.
