Despite the fact that Steven seemed like he knew already the solution to your problem, he never actually revealed what that solution was. You and Jason would prod and poke him about it for weeks afterwards, but he would not budge. Even when you make a very sincere plea to him, he only responded by telling you that he needed to finalize some things first.

"It's like if I promised you a wonderful feast without having all the ingredients ready. If I couldn't get my hands on the final ingredient, then it would just be the biggest disappointment."

On one hand, you could understand that sentiment. But on the other hand you reaaaaaalllyyy wanted to know if your crush on Kyra was wasted energy or not, and Steven withholding his solution was starting to annoy the crap out of you. However, you really couldn't hate the guy. He was just looking out for your best interests and trying in his own way to be a good friend. So you started to push down your feelings for Kyra, trying your best to ignore them for as long as you could as not to create awkward tension in the group.

Cut to today. You had all gathered to play through the next stage of your campaign, dealing with the Dragon that had been theorized to have been burning down a town. In reality, it was actually Jason's character who burnt down the town but the dragon was an easy scapegoat.

At least, that's what you thought until the Goddess of spiders decided to show her face.
