(6-2-2024 Author's note: I have wanted to publish this chapter for a long time as it is quite long. I hope I have all the errors out of it but may go back and make mild changes at a later date.)

On the way to your van you pass a SUV with it's windows down. You see Joe is in the vehicle with two college girls, a tall blonde and a small Asian. The blonde is Tracy Spaulding a junior on the Woocott Institute Women's basketball team. You know this from shooting video of the Fighting Angels for your uncle the past two years. Ben is one of the shortest male members in your family being barely five foot seven inches tall. You, your Uncle Jim, and Ben's brother (you're almost birthday twin, you are 3 days older) are all 6' 1". Many males in your family are 5'11 or 6'0. While you get along with your almost twin, you and Ben are a lot closer as he is outdoorsy and athletic like you. Brian is a clumsy, skinny, non-athletic, a real classical smart computer nerd type. She is often a different girl from the last time you seen him and they all seem to come from good families. Ben asks you the latest about Joe and Bobby and you fill him in on their exploits of the night and explain that you are unable to hook up with your dream girl and that you couldn't get any rubbers from your van. He tells you he's got you covered there and gives you one of the three pack boxes that he is carrying. You joke to add it to your bill. The two of you have supplied enough contraband to your friends (for a price) that anything the two of you use is from profit. Uncle Jim helps you get items that you need to be 21 years old to get. As you are walking you see Amber's car parked along the road. Maybe she didn't leave? Maybe she came back? Either way it means that Karen is likely still here. You each get a beer and talk for about 5 minutes until you are approached by your former neighbor Wendy Ooglemeyer.

Wendy is here as she is a cousin to Jon, Bill, and Ashley. She is super smart but has dressed like an old lady and acted like a total nerd until the start of this school year. She turned 18 the first week in August and her birthday celebration was a coming out party of sorts for her. She had lazer surgery and switched from her glasses to wearing contacts and after three years had her braces removed. She got a big present from her parents as her mom took her and her older sister to a spa in Central City and shopping for clothes and shoes at the finest boutiques after. Her dad is president of the only Bank in your town and she, as an 18 year old high school senior, already knows more about finance than some college students and employees of the bank. She will be going to Woocott Institute next year.

Wendy's parents lived in a large old Victorian style house on the corner that was probably the Company Manager's house when Green River City was founded. It sits on a triple lot. Your mom's small house is next, then Bobby and his dad's house (which is identical to yours and similar to many others in town). Your house was either the first for the working families or used to house servants of the Company Manager. The Ooglemeyer's moved to a new, larger house, just out of town, after you and Wendy completed second grade. Her older brother and sister were in high school and the old house with a barn converted to a garage just didn't work for the family anymore as it needed restoration. The barn and house were converted to economy rental units and every big old tree on the property was cut down for parking. The new owners did their best to drag the neighborhood property values down.

You and Wendy always got along so she stops to say hi. Like her Smith cousins, Wendy is cool to everyone that is cool to her and is not snobbish as her family position could leave her to be. While she has always been comfortable talking to you, you noticed she has a mixed drink in her hand and suspect she's had a few already as while not behaving like someone who is really drunk she is talking very easily to Ben. She also seems to be swaying some and there is a little slurring in her speech. Soon her and Ben see their similarities (Ben is majoring in finance and hopes to follow his dad's career course) and kind of wander away from you.

You get it as Ben has always been shy around girls due to his being shorter than most guys and many girls. Until recently Wendy could be described as weak and frail. Wendy usually gets tongue tied around guys as she feels a little unworthy due to her physical attributes. Wendy is only five feet three inches tall and you have never looked at her as a romantic interest as growing up so close together (in the summertimes before her family moved, you, her, and Bobby would often go for days not being apart from each other, even sleeping in tents in one of your backyards. Looking back one of her older siblings was probably watching over the three of you as you were a little young even in your relatively settled area). You have looked at her as being like a younger sister even though she is three weeks older. She also was a bit of a tomboy.

A few minutes after you see them go towards the private Cinema, hand in hand, you turn and see the Green twins, small blondes from nearby Smalltown with Ashley and Amber. You know the twins are Ashley's cousins as it is well known to all that she is related to all (both sets!) of the girl twins growing up in your small town rural area. Her dad's older sister, who is a judge, is Mom to the other set of girl twins who are 13 or 14 years old and have brown hair. You know the Green twins are near the same age as you as they were always over at Jon's house on holidays until about three years ago when their mom remarried. They have a much younger brother that always begged you and Jon to "play rough" with him. Neither of you minded wrestling and tossing him around as he was like a little brother to both of you and neither of you has a younger brother. They also have an older sister that you think is near Bill's age. Apparently Amber didn't leave or came back as you suspected upon seeing her car earlier when you were walking with Ben.

The twins always hung around with Ashley and none of you paid much attention to the other. Kacey is looking at you like she is interested in you but seems hesitant. Ashley is acting just like she did last year when she was trying to fix you up with Marci Hughes. (The two of you went on a few dates but there was no chemistry and you were both awkward with the other and nothing happened. The Hughes's moved away a few months ago after Marci graduated.)

Amber comes up to you, holding hands with Lacey and says she is sorry for how she has been acting towards you for the past few years but that you are both victims of false information that she now hopes to set right. She says she didn't know until a few minutes ago when Ashley told her that you have a crush on Karen. She tells you she loves her cousin but she is NOT FOR YOU. She says that Karen says bad things about you like using you for rides in your van and borrowing money off you and never paying you back. Karen says that maybe you would be good for sex but that she wants a rich guy. Karen has told her that you are anti gay, and that is why she has been so rude to you and hasn't told you that Karen says mean things about you when she is not around you, as she is trying to get stuff from you. Ashley, Jon, and Wendy told her tonight that you are not like that and respect individually as long as you are treated with respect accordingly. She then says she is sorry again and that since you both got along and did so well as science partners in seventh grade she should have known that Karen was lying. She looks at you and says "Yes Kevin, I'm gay."

Amber then contines by telling you that the twins had until recently an Asshole, soon to be ex-stepfather and that is what has been keeping them from seeing their cousins in Green River City. This is mostly because Mr. Smith refused to give money to his cult-like church. Karen says she accepts that I'm gay but I don't really believe her. As it has now been sorted out that this lovely likes me as much as I like her and that the other likes boys, could you help me get my car out as there are a few parked too close to it to get it onto the road, and then maybe drive as I'm probably too drunk now. When I saw my car was boxed in I had just a few drinks to calm down and that's when I discovered Kacey. We then found our common interest.

Their former stepfather is a far out preacher and wouldn't let the girls get licenses to drive as it would lead them to go sinning. Of course drinking, premarital sex, and homosexuality are also not allowed according to his beliefs but sleeping with women other than his wife is apparently okay. Their mom sees things differently and is getting divorced after it recently became known that he knocked up two married women in his church and is fucking their barely legal daughters (and may have them pregnant as well).

You say you noticed her car on your way back from the beach bonfire walking with Ben and think that she must have been there earlier as it looked like it would be easy to drive out to the road when you passed it. You thought that she had left and for some reason had come back. Amber says that she has to get Karen back home at the end of tonight or their moms' will be pissed. Then as if on cue, Karen shows up really drunk with Tom, who is also bombed out of his mind, at her side. Karen isn't very tall but she has a noticeable height advantage over Tom. Tom also looks really fat next to the skinny former cheerleader.

Karen tells Amber that her and her new rich boyfriend Tom are going to the backseat of Amber's car to fuck BAREBACK. Karen then sees you and says you're kind of cute and she thinks you would have been a great fuck but that's all you would have been, a FUCK, and that you would have been wearing two condoms as she's not risking having a poor boy's baby, and Tom is A RICH MAN. Amber says no Karen isn't using her car like that and that Karen needs to stop using such crude language and talking stupidly about dangerous sex as she is around a higher class of people.

"FUCK OFF Amber, I see COMING OUT LEZBO hasn't changed you. You're still a BITCHY, FRIDGE, FUCKING, PRUDE, DYKE. I guess WE will just have to KICK BOBBY AND HIS FAT, UGLY, CUM BUCKET CUNT OUT AND FUCK IN THAT CRAPPY PIECE OF SHIT VAN OF YOURS, KEVIN. THEN ALPHA TOMMY CAN BREED ME!!!", Karen says to you.

You are disgusted by this and all four girls gasp at this latest outburst and then again as a large white Johnson football player picks Karen up from behind and covers her mouth with one of his hands, lifting her off the ground in kind of a standing **** hold. A big black Johnson football player has Tom down in a standing headlock (like adolescent boys do to their friends to give them playful noogies or guide them, but this guy isn't playing or being gentle) they are both looking to Ashley for directions on what to do next. Bill likes to party hard but he is a little responsible and sensible about it. He always has a few guys stay sober that are big and can handle themselves for situations like this. It is not always the same guys for every party as many are friends of Bill's and he wants to treat them right although some (like the two holding Tom and Karen) will do it for the money and to stay in favor with the rich and powerful.

These two giants are defensive lineman on the Johnson College football team. They grew up poor in the worst part of Capital City and work like this (for cash-off the books) every time they can as their scholarships don't give them much spending money and they know that staying in top shape and not drinking helps them with their performance on the field and that it is their only shot at a good life. They probably won't be able to go pro but the degrees from the prestigious private college and the contacts they make there will help them escape their impoverished beginning and help their families to a better life. There are a few other sober security/enforcers at the party as well.

Ashley says thanks guys for taking care of the trash and that they are to throw them off the end of the main dock and see if that sobers them up some. She says to watch them as the water is over their heads and they might be dumbass enough to drown and that can't happen. She then says if that doesn't change their attitude, they should ask Bill what to do with them after that. She also reminds them that she is sure they know but not to let them leave the property until the party has wound down as in their Dumbass condition they might think to get the cops to bust the party as a form of ****.

She then pulls you aside and says she thinks you should ask her cousin Lacey for a date. As you are Jon's good friend, Ashley knows you well and tells you that you and her cousin have much in common as she knows that you could still be very athletic like her cousin if you, Jon, Bobby, and a few others hadn't quit sports during your ninth grade year in protest over the firing of one of your coaches by the school board for what you kids know were bullshit reasons. (More about this is in other parts of this story.) she knows you could get top grades if you tried and didn't work or have to work so much. You're both outdoorsy and into hunting and fishing as well. The twins mom filed for divorce this week and Lacey is free to date as her ex-boyfriend just broke up with her because his dad is best friends with her soon to be ex-stepfather. She also wouldn't do all the things her ex said she should. He had strict rules on how she should dress, where she should be, what she should say, and things like that. He hates everything outdoors and would never go fishing, hiking, or hunting or anything like that. He is basically a short, fat, Asshole that likes to try to control everything and everyone. Lacey only stayed with him because her step father kind of made her. His dad is also a real jerk but is really involved (gives lots of money) to Lacey's former step father's Church.

You say you will drive Amber's car to Amber's house as it is not far from your uncle's and you can crash there until Bobby or someone brings your van back or you get a ride to get your van back to town. You tell her that you think Amber is smart but bad at lying and you will help her, if needed, if Karen is not back at Amber's house on time.

You will tell Amber to tell her mom and Karen's mom that Karen just went kind of crazy and got picked up by some friends and went to a drinking party and that Amber stayed home like a good girl. Her mom remembers you from when you and Amber were both in science class together and how athletic and goody goody you were when you were younger, and trusts you and Amber. The story will be you and the twins were at your uncle's just drinking soda, eating junk food, and playing videogames when Amber called you upset that Karen left. You and the twins then walked over to comfort her. Amber's mom doesn't know the real relationship between you and Amber the past few years.

You get a text from Joe saying he won't need a ride back or be driving the van. You text Bobby telling him that you and Joe both have rides out and to text you in the morning whether to bring the van to your uncle's or your mom's and to check if he needs to give Tom and Karen a ride back to Green River City. You brief him on the situation of you driving Amber's car to Amber's house with her and the twins and the situation with Tom and Karen. You then leave with Amber and the twins to go to Amber's mom's house.
