You feel guilty

As you ride in the car, the two of you sit in silence as you finally take in what you just did. The realization of your extramarital actions hits you like a brick wall. You can't help but to start crying. Greg immediately notices.

"What's wrong, Katherine?" Greg asks, his voice filled with sincere concern.

"I'm a terrible person. I just cheated on my husband. My husband who loves me and is loyal to me. He doesn't deserve this, and I still went through with it. I don't deserve him."

Greg pulls the car over and parks on the side of the road.

"Hey, hey. What you did was the greatest thing anyone has ever done for me. That's the way you are. You'll do whatever it takes to help someone you care about. There are so few people like you. James is so lucky to have you. I would do anything for someone like you." Greg reaches his arms out for you and pulls you into a hug. You rest your head on his shoulder and weep softly. Greg slowly rubs your back.

"I'll make sure you won't regret what you've done for me." Greg continues. "You'll get a big raise, and anything you want just ask me."

"Right now, I just want to go home."

"Of course, we're almost at my house."

Despite Greg's attempts to make you feel better, you still can't feel any less guilty. Greg pulls back onto the road and soon you are at his house. You get out of the car and walk with him to his door.

"I'm so sorry for what happened tonight, Katherine, but thank you again. I'll see you at work tomorrow."

You get into your car and place your head on the steering wheel. You sit there and cry, wondering if you should tell James what happened or not. You don't know how long you sat there when you finally decide that it's time to go. You reach down for your keys, but you realize that they are in your jacket. The jacket that you left in Greg's house. Getting out of your car you head up to the door and knock.
