You don't get a chance to decide

A shattering of glass draws your attention away from your companions and down the hall behind them. A trio of those things come crashing in. These aren't like the ones you faced before. These ones have actual mouths and. . . not much else actually. They're essentially giant floating orbs with a gaping jaw and a lolling tongue that you're pretty sure wouldn't actually fit in their mouth even if it tried. The zebra stripe pattern on their 'body' only adds to their surreal appearance. Any further analysis is put on hold as Hinako already has her revolver out and is opening fire on them.

Six shots ring out in quick succession, and six smoking holes appear in the monsters. Hinako lets go of the breath she was keeping in as she quickly reloads. Meanwhile, you're still fumbling with the safety on your own pistol. As you mistakenly eject the clip, Hinako is already snapping the cylinder in place and ready to unleash another volley. She glances over at you with an exasperated look, "of course I get stuck with the one American who can't use a gun." You're a little too scared at the moment to be offended. It might be a moot point anyway as the too of you turn to check on the monsters. They don't seem to be hurt at all. In fact, the holes Hinako left in them are gone now and they're advancing towards you again. Their slack jawed grins mocking your helplessness. At least they think you're helpless. . .

You can feel it coming on again. . .

That same presence as before begins to rise within you. Only this time you're ready for it. One in particular steps forward and while it didn't have the strength Odin did, you can tell it should be able to get the job done. . .
