You can't find it anywhere

You search everywhere under your bed, feeling around the every corner, your breasts being pressed painfully into the ground. You even tug at some spider webs that were hiding in the corners of the bed frame, but you can't feel or see the ring anywhere.

Getting up, you search the surroundings of the bed - perhaps it rolled behind the dresser, or maybe it got bounced onto the mattress? Nothing.

You have to accept it - it's gone. You hear some movements downstairs, and realise that you may need to think of an alternative plan.
