How can you consider that! He is your mother's boyfriend. Anyway after the parade of losers she has dated she deserves someone to make her happy.

You pull away feeling a blush warm your face. Your feel sure your mother will know what is going through you mind, but she seems to be distracted looking around. "Where are the kids?" she asks.

"They are running late as usual. Should be here in about 10 minutes. Why don't we go get a coffee while we wait." Richard replies.

You find a table near the entrance and sit with mum as Richard goes to the counter to order. "Well what do you think?" she asks.

"He seems nice." you reply "he's very big." Your mum seems to find this funny but won't explain why.

Right then Richard walked up and sat at the table "what's so funny?" he asks.

"Oh just girl talk don't worry about it." she replies.

A few minutes later your order arrives. You don't really have any experience with coffee and don't quite know what a Macchiato is, but it tastes ok for coffee. Richard has also gotten a giant slice of chocolate mud cake the you and mum greedily devour. You are just enjoying the last piece when Richard says "ah here are the kids"
