You Lose

"I accept." You say with a shy grin.

"Excellent!" Dr. Topple cheers. "Let's go to my office, I have a board in my desk." She excitedly chatters as she leads you down the hall to her office, which you find very nicely furnished with an expensive-looking mahogany desk and an equally classy coffee table with two plush leather armchairs on each side.

"Wow." You exclaim. "Did you buy all this furniture yourself? It's exquisite."

"Yes." She answers as she sets up the game. "I think you'll find that if you utilize the GAME system effectively you'll be able to get anything you want in short order."

You take your seats across from each other and begin the game. Dr. Topple comes out with an aggressive strategy, quickly deploying her knights and bishops. Grinning smugly you try to take advantage of her playstyle, trading pieces carefully and strategically. A bit over a dozen turns in you feel like you've taken enough of an advantage to begin pushing towards your endgame. Then, Dr. Topple moves her rook and cheerily declares, "Checkmate."

You blink, dumbfounded that you missed the move. With a sigh, you tip your king over. Your GT chimes once again, letting you know that you lost and reminding you of the consequence. "Well, where are we going out for this drink?" You ask with a light blush.
