I was worried for Emma, so, I left the police car, pulled out my gun, and ran through the doors of the building. Within it was nice and cool, and I felt my fingers begin to frost over. That was good. I noticed that the first story was oddly quiet, so I ran up the stairs and investigated the second story.

There were four dead bodies on the ground, two Hispanic, one white, and one black. Each had a bullet wound, which meant that there was still one more shot I had to find out about. There was only one more staircase, and as I ascended it, I heard running upstairs.

Now more cautious, I crept up the stairs and looked around. I noticed Emma on the opposite side of the room, her gun in hand. She crept into a room, and I heard more gunfire. I jumped once again, only this time a bit more relieved that she was alive. Within seconds, she came out again and spotted me. She froze.

It appeared that she was shocked to see me, and after a few seconds, she angrily made her way to me.

?What the hell are you doing here?? she hissed. ?I told you to wait.?

?I got worried.? I replied.

?Get back to the car now!?

?Ahhhh!?

It seemed as if out of the blue one of the gang members appeared. He tackled Emma, and both of them went over the railings. Quickly, I leaned over and grabbed Emma by the collar of her shirt. She gagged a bit as the collar choked up on her, but I was the only thing keeping her from falling thirty feet. I was just reaching over to pull her up when I felt cold metal touch the side of my head.

?Move and I?ll kill you.?

I froze. I didn?t even dare look at who had the gun to me.

?Now, let go of your partner and watch her fall. You have five seconds to do so, otherwise I?ll shoot you and you?ll both die.?

Emma looked up at me.
