Jack runs and bursts open to the door. Terror strikes him as he is standing face to face with the monster. Its figure was much more imposing now that it was merely a few feet away. He could hear its loud, labored breathing and smell its strong pungent odor.

His hands began to tremble. His knees wobbled and his vision narrowed. His ears hurt with the pounding of his heart. Oh God, it was coming towards him. It was coming _for him! _He's seen animal attacks before. He saw what happened to that security guard. He didn't want to end up like him. Oh God! He had to leave! He had to get away! He whirled around and fumbled the door open.

Suddenly a searing pain lashed down his back and he fell to the floor. He turned to look what had happened but he felt an excoriating weight nail him to the floor. He cried out for help. But in that moment he knew this was it. And as the stench of the creature got closer to his face he had one thought on his mind: he hoped it would be over quickly.
