I wasn't the richest student, so I decided to save money by sharing a dorm room. I had no idea who my roommate was going to be until I walked into the room, cradling a very large box, and saw a selection of unmistakably female stuff already in there. Allie appeared at the door behind me.

"Oh!" I exclaimed. "Am I in the wrong room?"

"No, this is ours," Allie replied. "There was a man from the accommodation team here when I arrived; he said they couldn't match everyone up with a roommate of the same gender and so we have to share. He can try and move us if we're not happy with it, but we might have to wait a couple of weeks until someone elsewhere drops out. Is... Is that okay?"
