Chapter 10 by Northfield Northfield

Does she still play on?

Yes, she heads to the computer lab

Her mind raced as she scanned the layout of the college in her head. The nearest computer lab was a few floors down, but she knew that was risky. If she took the stairs, she might run into someone. But the elevator was out of the question; it was too slow and too enclosed. She made her decision and dashed for the stairs, her bare feet flying down the steps, the sound echoing through the empty stairwell.

As she reached the second floor, Lia's heart nearly stopped when she heard footsteps approaching from below. She froze, her body tense and ready to bolt back up if necessary. The steps grew louder, and she realized that she had nowhere to hide. Just as she was about to turn and run back up, she saw a blur of movement and collided with someone. The impact sent them both tumbling down the stairs, a tangle of limbs and gasps.

The person she'd run into was a young college staff member, probably heading to the party early to set up. His face was a mask of shock and horror as he landed at the bottom of the stairs, his glasses askew and his arms clutching at his briefcase. Lia landed on top of him, her bare skin pressing against his clothed body, the coldness of the floor seeping through her. She could feel his warmth and the rapid beating of his heart.

"Excuse me? Where are your clothes?!" He said as he scrambled to his feet.

"I-I'm so sorry!" Lia stuttered, her cheeks burning redder than the sunburn she was about to get. "It's a dare! I have to find them before the party starts!" She managed to stand up, her knees trembling slightly.

The staff member looked at her with a mix of confusion and disgust. "Young lady, this is highly inappropriate behavior. I'll have to report this!" He reached for his walkie-talkie, his hand shaking slightly.

With a start, Lia realized she couldn't let this go any further. She had to get to the computer lab and fast. She couldn't risk getting caught by security or worse, being recognized. She quickly scanned the area for any sign of her clothes, but there was nothing. The USB drive in her hand felt like a hot potato, and she knew that her only chance was to find a place to check its contents.

The staff member was still fumbling with his walkie-talkie, trying to compose himself enough to call for backup. Lia took a deep breath and made a break for it, her legs moving on autopilot as she sprinted down the hallway, leaving a trail of water from the fountain and a faint scent of panic in her wake. The computer lab was her sanctuary now, the one place she could hope to find some privacy and figure out her next move.

Lia darted into the computer lab, the cold air hitting her like a slap in the face. The room was dark, but she managed to find an unoccupied computer. With trembling hands, she inserted the USB drive into the port, waiting for the computer to whirl to life.

The screen flickered before displaying the contents of the drive. It was a single text file titled "Clue 3." She clicked it open, her eyes scanning the document. The words on the screen made her heart sink. It wasn't an apology or a clue to her clothes; it was another task.

The task set before Lia was daring, to say the least. She had to find a way to upload a photo of herself in her current state, but not too revealing, to the college's social media page within the next five minutes saying she was excited for the part. The humiliation was almost too much to bear, but she knew she had to follow through. If she didn't, the dare would never end, and her reputation would be in tatters.

Her eyes darted around the room, searching for anything she could use. She spotted a forgotten smartphone on a desk. It was a stroke of luck, but she knew she had to be careful. She approached the phone with the stealth of a cat burglar. Luckily, the device wasn't password protected, probably left open by a forgetful student in their rush to leave for the party. Her heart pounded in her chest as she picked it up. The phone was a lifeline, a chance to move the dare forward without being caught.

The screen illuminated, displaying a series of notifications and unread messages. She quickly dismissed them, her eyes scanning the apps. With shaking hands, she opened the camera and took a few practice shots, ensuring she could capture herself in a way that was risky but not overly explicit. The clock was ticking down, and she didn't have much time.

With a deep breath, Lia settled on a pose that was suggestive but not overly revealing. She angled the phone just right, her dark brown eyes peeking coyly over her shoulder, her hand strategically placed to cover her most private areas. The light from the screen cast an eerie glow on her wet, shivering body. With a trembling finger, she tapped the button to capture the image. The flash illuminated the room briefly, and she held her breath, waiting for any signs of someone entering.

The picture was taken, and she immediately uploaded it to the college's social media page with a caption that played along with the dare. "So ready for the Summer Party! Can't wait to see everyone there!" she typed, her cheeks burning with a mix of embarrassment and excitement.

She waited, her heart racing, for the photo to upload. The moment the screen showed the successful post, she let out a sigh of relief. But the message didn't end there. A notification popped up almost immediately, with her next clue attached. It was a photo of the college's library, the bookshelves stretching into the distance.

The message read, "Find the book titled 'The Naked Truth' in the library and read the first page aloud." Lia's eyes widened with a mix of excitement and dread. The library was a well-traveled area, especially during finals week. The thought of reciting something aloud in her current state was terrifying, but she had come too far to back out now.

Oh no...
