Chapter 3

Does he make it his business?
Yes, he does!
After a short debate Barry decided that, even if this was not his business he would make it his business! Growling he started moving towards the scent, slowly, carefully. He wanted to take these men by surprise.
After a few yards into the Maze of alleys he noticed that he had no way of finding them on time as long as he remained on the ground. Recalling one of the many tricks he used to know, he concentrated for a short while, visualising a salmon leaping up a waterfall and within the blink of an eye he had leapt on top of one of the surrounding buildings.
Up here he could easily find the two stinking men and the frightened girl. He had to cross two more buildings, then he crept up towards the dead end alley in which his three targets were moving.
Looking down he saw the three people he had already smelled. One of the men was huge and bulky, his head shaven completely bald, the other was short and stocky with thin grey hair and a filthy looking beard, both wore dark clothing and long brown trenchcoats. The girl was barely old enough to be called a woman, she had short black hair and her face showed a hint of Asian ancestry. Barry noticed that she was barefoot and the only visible pieces of clothing were her jeans and a white t-shirt, that was torn and left her small breasts open for the world to see. His keen sight noticed that her toes had already turned into a dark red colour and her breathing was very heavy, she must have been running from them for a while. Yet despite all this Barry felt mesmerised by her glowing emerald eyes. Seeing her fear and hopelessness in these eyes he felt her pain and hopeless anger as if he was in her position. He only managed to return his thoughts to the present when the two men started laughing.
“Hey now sweetie, it was just bad luck that you saw us pop this guy, now we won’t make this painful if you just let us have some fun.”
The small man started laughing
“It is not like you have much of a choice now do you?”
The large one then added.
“Yeah! If you play along nicely we might even let you be our pet from now on!”
She backed away a little further and was now with her back to the Wall. Barry felt his inner rage once again swelling up in him, he had to act fast!
How does he help the girl?
