You debate whether to wait or run for it when the lift finally arrives, and not a moment too soon as Pete and his high-voiced comrade come running out of your cabin. You don't wait for the doors to fully open before you jump in to the lift and hit the button to close the doors. Pete and the other pirate charge down the corridor but are too late to stop the lift doors from closing.

"Main deck!" you yell at the lift, which issues a soft 'ding' and begins rising to the main deck while playing comforting music.

You and Aiko embrace each other in relief. After a moment, Aiko pulls back to look at you before pulling you back and kissing you. Even in the middle of your dangerous situation, her soft kiss seems to make everything all right. She breaks the kiss and hugs you tightly and you can tell she's crying.

"If we don't get out of this alive, I want you to know..." she pauses and takes a deep breath before pulling back enough to softly touch your cheek. "I love you. Since the moment I first saw you, I knew. I had to tell you... just in case..."
