Chapter 4 by BoredDreamer BoredDreamer

Uni? Don't We Have Something More Pressing?

Yes, but let's slow down a little

Arvin had countless better options than to attend his university.

Like testing with some items.

However, life had its own pace. When he earned a considerable sum monthly, University was there just for show and certificate.

But there were two reasons that stopped him from dropping out of Uni.

First, his mother.

While she didn’t know the actual amount he earned, she wouldn’t let him do as he pleased.

Second, the main reason actually. The girl peeking at him from the front right seat.

“Remi, just ignore that bastard. He skipped this class yesterday and didn’t even show his face. Just leave him be.”

Remi gave her friend an evil-eye. She thought she peeked at Arvin without his knowledge, so when one of her three friends a.k.a bodyguards, Sol, spoke in a not-really-small voice, she was naturally embarrassed.

Pouting, Remi turned to the right, not daring accidentally look back.

While the number of times they spoke face-to-face couldn’t be counted as little, when one watched their antiques, they would want to bang their head on the wall, both out of jealousy and frustration.

Just make out already, was one of their curses.

While being the only non-black-haired girl, Remi had an adorable lovely face. Her redhead sported a natural textured bob cut adorning her unruly messy hair with innocent elegance. Living up to the dense foreign blood flowing in her veins, the bunnies on her chest were always lively. While she wore a loose-fitting dress, none dared underestimate her figure.

Arvin threatened Sol with his eyes but got three thumb-downs in return.

While it was terrible to be overwhelmed by girls, those attitudes ensured Remi’s safety from hungry wolves.

While keeping an eye on the fidgety Remi, Arvin flipped open his Rulebook.

With him being on the last seat, he had less to defend against. And he had written everything so far in a way that would keep the reader in confusion. He also had backup plans if things went awry.

Required:

  • A safe environment (preferably countryside and closer).
  • Living facility (Low to mid-level).
  • Private land (two hectares).
  • Underground facility (size?).
  • Full recording facility.
  • Test subjects (mice, rabbits, weasel, cows).

Arvin thought a little and scratched the cows. It might be more than a hassle to maintain them. Maybe he will try with one or two.

Even if land prices are super cheap here, imported things are going to cost a bit. Damn, this is going to take a toll on my balance, Arvin grimaced before flipping the page.

He added another title.

Tests:

  • Time/Clock.
  • Acceleration/Deceleration.
  • Growth.
  • Intelligence.

Hmm~ Let’s hold on to Omnipotence and Omniscience. While humming a happy tune inwardly, Arvin turned on his laptop and searched for words.

Polymath, not sure how that will work since it means someone who is already proficient.

Shlong... damn! Was there such a beautiful word like that? Definitely must, but sure gonna feel disgusting when I test it on a small creature.

So, the list continued to grow.

  • Evolution.
  • Perfection.
  • Polymath.
  • Shlong.
  • Scientist.
  • Player.
  • Gamer.
  • Superman.
  • Sentience.
  • Magic.
  • Psychic.
  • Immortal.
  • Life.
  • ****.
  • Holy.
  • Unholy.
  • Motivation.
  • Racist.
  • ****.
  • Cure.
  • Advanced.
  • ...

Arvin added one word after another and before long he filled up the page.

On the next page.

Theories:

  • Effect of Race, Profession, Ability, and Skills on living beings.
  • Effect of [Emotional] attribs on both animate and inanimate.
  • Effect of [Sentience] on inanimate objects.
  • Effect of [Race] attribs.
  • Effect of [......

After realizing that he possibly had unlimited usage of this modifying ability, Arvin checked the feasibility of adding modifiers on living beings. When that turned out to be a success, he realized there were too many options to add.

At the same time, the glaring possibility of changing or killing himself became largely evident.

The first theory was one of the main reasons Arvin avoided using the modifiers on himself.

Like what if the [Warrior] profession, instead of giving him Warrior-like physique, experience, or instinct, made him a battle-crazy maniac wouldn't he lose greatly?

Another example was [Science +1] and [Scientist +1].

While Scientist was a profession, Science was a subject.

If he assigned Science to himself, would he become more proficient on the subject or the modifier would make him the science?

One thing for sure, the modifier wasn’t a joke. The method of change might be unscientific but the end result was not. He had no idea what caused the water to become cleaner, but the pond didn’t magically get cleaner. The wastes slowly submerged beneath.

Which was why Arvin wasn’t in a rush to add modifiers on himself.

Wait, a real babe? How?
