Yennefer visits the Professor.

The Karlik estate was large, and sat in the foothills to the east, with a marvelous view of the mountains. Well staffed and guarded, more of a small village than a simple Lord's mansion. A large wall, made of red and brown brick covered in ivy ran the border of the compound, tall enough to afford privacy for those inside. Even still she could make out the rooftops of more than a half dozen buildings, some very large. The main gate was cast iron, guarded by two men in well-made armor.

Lord Karlik had wealth and did little to hide it. Why he had decided to take a Professor from the Academy under his employ she did not know.

"Yennefer of Vengerberg," she stated to the guard at the gate. "Court sorcerer of Emperor Emhyr var Emreis. I sent word of my arrival."

The guard looked at her suspiciously. "I will have to check," he said warily. Nudging the guard beside him. The man sighed heavily and left the guard post.

"What is your business here." the guard asked the uncertainty still evident in his voice as he continued to look her up and down unsure what to make of her.

"My business is my own." Yennefer replied, the thought had occurred to her to read this man's mind but she quickly dismissed that. It would do her no good to experience another man fucking Ciri. So they stood with an uneasy silence.
