I barely choked out a scream before a shadow covered me; the woman had leaped into the air, her cloak spreading out like the wings of a crow. He sword gleamed in the sunlight, and I pulled the dagger from my hip.

Her first blow sent the dagger flying, and then I was on the ground. I hadn't seen the movement that took my legs from under me, but I did see the woman invert her sword.
