Chapter 82

What is Kurenais business?
Yūhi Kurenai, the Bloodlines and the Will of Fire.
After a few moments of waiting, Yūhi Kurenai entered the room and greeted them. "Hello Naruto and Hokage Tsunade", she looked about the room a little and was a little worried with the presence of Konan. She kept looking about to notice a huge stack of papers and got a little worried that her business might be pushed under all the paper.
"Kurenai, I don't have much time. Shiranui Genma had said you had things to ask or say in regards to the Uzumaki clan. And because the head of said clan is present I felt that, now would be a good time to hear you out. This being as known that you know of Naruto and I would hope you would respect him enough to ask or say what you have to say in front of him.", Tsunade responded to her
Naruto let off a smile so big at how much crap the Hokage is giving someone other then him. Unperturbed by the Hokage though, Yūhi Kurenai said "I was thinking about the fact that Asuma Sarutobi died and how alone with his son I am. And I started to think, well maybe because Shikamaru Nara was like a son to Asuma being married to him would be good for the real son of Asuma. But after I thought about how lazy Shikamaru was, I started to think about the bloodlines.".
Tsunade nodded. "I know, you know as well as I do about the bloodlines, but Hiruzen Sarutobi barred the village from ever talking about it in front of Naruto. But being as all thou Hiruzen is dead and I have taken his title, and the course of current events, I think maybe I should explain the reason you're here to Naruto. Kurenai, I mean it's the least I can do for him, right?", the blonde Hokage asked.
Kurenai nodded and waited for her to start explaining the reason as to the point she was trying to make to Naruto. So Tsunade explained. "Naruto, the blood lines she talks of are like the blood lines between me and my grandfather. Like that of Asuma and Hiruzen, is closer to what your bloodlines are Naruto. When I first saw your dream was like so many people I loved, who had dreamed of becoming Hokage, I started to realize how painful it was to have the bloodlines many of us hold. As you know by now Naruto, your father was the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze. He sealed the demon in you to help protected the village. And he asked the village before he did it to never look at you in shame. The only ones able to do as he asked where all the people who respected him. And that were the ninja, because of this you got into a lot of trouble and often that made the people hate you.", she said.
Naruto nodded. Back then, he had been hurt and confused about the undeserved hate had been getting, but it made sense now. He looked at Tsunade and asked "Granny Tsunade, you're not pulling my leg are you? I mean, no one has treated my family special 'til recently, as if it was something worth growing and making bigger. So why are you giving me this information now?".
Tsunade smiled and said "It just seems time. Kurenai has a good reason I think to be part of your clan. The son of Asuma and the grandchild of the Third will be raised by the child of the Fourth. It seems every valid if you ask me, and thus the Will of Fire will be passed on. That is not to say that Kurenai might not want more kids and another reason why she picked the brave strong man in front of us who has impressed so many since he was a kid. That is just to suggest that the main reason, is to help keep the Thirds bloodline alive by placing him in a strong family.".
Kurenai nodded. "Before Asuma died, he had explained that he had been teaching Naruto of wind chakra. Explaining to him how to control it how to sharpen it how to place it onto blades of weapons to make them sharper and so on. Asuma understood how rare his chakra form was and there are few to teach it to his son should that be true. So in truth, some of the better lesson's that Asuma's son might need to learn, will be learned from his father more or less."
It was true. It was common that chakra natures were passed down in the family. So, Asumas son was probably, just like Naruto himself, a ninja whou could use the wind chakra. That aside, Naruto was not aversed to marry Kurenai-sensei. She was a beautiful woman and even though he knew he should have mixed feeling about taking care of Asumas woman, he would do it gladly if she herself was okay with it. "I understand and I respectfully accept her offer. It pains me that I was only able to kill one of the people who had killed Asuma. But I was able to do it because of what he had been teaching me, because of that I was able to surpass my father even. With Kakashis help, who was the student of my father and who in turn was the one that taught him, right?", he recalled the line of students and teachers that had culminated in him. And Naruto of course was more than willing to become a teacher as well. To Asumas son as much as to his other children.
Tsunade looked at Naruto with a smile. She figured it was about time he learned everything. "You might not know this Naruto, but you're named after the character of Jiraiya's first book, so that makes Jiraiya your godfather. Jiraiya later related to me that the day he meet you he had not realized you where the Fourth's son. In truth he had not known that you where the fourth's son til he saw the Demon Fox seal on your abdomen. Your father had entrusted a lot of things to Jiraiya because the Toad Sage's that you yourself have meet had entrusted a lot of things on to him about you Naruto. Your father could also summon toads, but you knew that from contract scroll, don't you? So Naruto, the truth that is that, with the relationship you had with the man I cared for even if we were never together, I am kinda like your Grandmother, so I care for you just like one. This is what the Will of Fire does to us and this is what the Bloodlines mean."
Konan, having listened to all of this. Thinking about it, she too had probably learned about the will of Fire from Jiraiya and inherited a part of it from the man. So she chose to share her feelings with them. "Jiraiya was also a teacher to me, in fact, he is the reason I am... no, was a shinobi. I learned it to be able to defend the people I care for. The people of the land that always cries. In other words, the Hidden Rain Village. The Second Great Ninja war saw many battles, but in that war, it was easy for the three kids to vanish. Nagato and Yahiko where also people who got lessons from Jiraiya. Yahiko was **** to be killed by Nagato by Hanzo and it affected us both. Either way the lines or bonds between us often grow after great pain and that is what I honestly think Nagato was trying to explain to you back then.", Konan explained. She had been mulling over Nagatos last words for a long time and now that she had figured it out, she was here, in Konoha.
Narutos eyes grew wide. "I'm sorry Konan. I never thought about how you felt when I destroyed Pain... I was ignorant towards you...", he apologized profusely. He had played a big part in the **** of the only person left in her life.
Kurenai smiled a little and walked over to Naruto. Putting her hand on his shoulder to comfort him a bit, she spoke to him softly. "It's okay, Konan understands you did it to protect your village. Jiraiya-sama had expressed to me his idea of the Will of Fire. That it was born even in people outside of our own village, that it is not just us. And after being affected by him, she has decided to move to our village and become a part of it. I think that is why Konan is here today.", she told him.
The blue-headed shinobi nodded. "That is the truth... I was lonely after Nagato died. I thought I had no one, but I always remembered your promise. And now that you made it true, I am here to thank you properly for it.", Konan explained. Naruto was taken aback that she not only readily forgave him, but even came to thank him now.
Seeing Konans honest feelings, a smile passed Kurenais face. "I think the perverted old Jiraiya-sama would be very proud of you Naruto. So many women interested in you, as Jiraiya-sama himself had always tried to get to workout for himself.", she joked.
Tsunade then let out a laugh and said "If he was here right now, I would punch him just for him thinking bad thoughts about Naruto's wives!".
Naruto smiled and said "Thanks, Granny Tsunade. Now that this is all in order, I think we should settle these two into the house or add rooms to the house or whatever needs to be done, sign the paper work and so on. If there needs to be another wedding, maybe we can hold it off til more people show up? And if that is not a decent enough possibility maybe we have Konan stay with Kurenai til the wedding but still expand the house now to make room for everyone?"
Tsunade nodded and said "Already on it, I'll send Yamato over to add some rooms to the house. At least four, maybe more... it depends on how he is feeling.", she added with a wry smile. She definitely knew something.
So Naruto asked. "Granny Tsunade, what's that supposed to mean? You want to introduce me to even more wives?", he asked with an unbelieving expression.
Chuckling, Tsunade shook her head. "Well, no. At least not for today.", she said and then looked at Naruto and his new wives. "Why don't you take the two ladies back to your home and introduce them to the others before they move in? I'm sure a lot of them know Kurenai, but they may need to get used to Konan a bit."
"I agree... it would be best if I do not alarm the others with my presence.", Konan agreed. "I think it's a wonderful idea as well. I want to look after Hinata too, I haven't talked to her at all after her wedding. I need to know if you've been treating her properly, Naruto.", Kurenai chimed in. And thus it was decided. With the choice made, the three headed for the door.
Do his new wives have more to say to him without Tsunade around or will they head straight home?
