Witness from above

The drop wasn't too high, within moments Jessica rolled onto a cold metal floor. Glancing around, it appeared she was in a vent big enough to fit one person. "That fucking bitch! Trust nobody, the fucking idiot I am!" Jessica yelled at herself, quieting her voice as she realised it echoed all the way down the vent.

Jessica composed herself and then decided to crawl down the vent on all fours. "The things I do for a story.." she muttered, crawling down the cold vent. As she approached the corner, she could hear a conversation and what sounded like a wrestle. She quickly but quietly crawled round the corner.

Light shone into the vent, lights lining the shadows where an opening could be seen. Jessica peaked her eyes through gaps. The room below was fairly small and bland, looking grey all over. A woman was sat at a desk on one end, writing things down. Two security guards were wrestling with a screaming woman, who looked crazy. "GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME! I DON'T WANNA GO BACK THERE!!" She squealed, seeming frightened of this facility.

Jessica was confused, this place looked totally abandoned yet these people were acting as if it was booming with business. "Shoulda thought about that before robbing the grocery store..again." One of the guards responded. They dragged her over to the desk. "What's her crime?" The woman at the desk asked without even looking. "Theft, robbed a grocery store." The guard responded. He'd managed to stuff a cloth in the woman's mouth, her screaming had hit his breaking point.

The woman typed away on her computer. "Take her to section B area 7, but I'm sure you guys already know where it is." She instructed, pressing a button to open a metal door. The security guards dragged the screaming woman through the door, muffled by the cloth in her mouth. The woman behind the desk closed the door with the same button and got back to work.

Jessica reached into her pocket and took out her notebook, writing down what she just saw. She came to the conclusion that this was some kind of prison, but they seemed very laid back about it. She also noted how little checks they did on the prisoners, were there many innocent people stuck in here? She asked on the notebook.
