With the homeless

You wonder if you're stuck spending the night on the streets.

Sometimes it seems that half of the bay area is homeless. With housing prices completely through the roof, nobody who doesn't make a ridiculous salary is **** either to commute for well over an hour each direction, share a room with a bunch of other people, or rendered homeless.

You're sure most of the homeless people are perfectly nice. In fact, there's one guy you used to chat with regularly on your way to MicroStuff. You even made two sandwiches every morning so you could give one to him. But the homeless are often victims... both of other homeless and of assholes who like to prey on the most helpless and those least likely to go to the police. Sadly, although you're working on changing, you suspect you still give off too much of a victim vibe. Something other than sleeping on the street seems preferable.

You're lucky you have some cash... although not as much as you'd thought given how proud the club was of their beer. You decide to find an all-night diner where you can nurse a cup of coffee and do some research on you phone. Once again, Google-Maps comes through and you find one only half a mile away.
